Major threats to Urial populations include habitat loss and poaching, causing severe declines in its population. Nematode infections may also compromise Urial survival, but little is known about Punjab Urial gastrointestinal nematodes. In this study, a novel DNA barcoding approach was developed using ITS-I as a target region, with a primer pair designed to amplify frequently reported nematode species for small ruminants. The novel primer pair was validated in silico and in vitro and subsequently used to determine the presence of nematodes in Punjab Urial samples from Kala Bagh Game Reserve, District Mianwali (Pakistan). DNA barcoding revealed a higher prevalence of Haemonchus contortus (73.91%), Trichuris ovis (16.30%) and Trichostrongylus axei (3.26%) in Punjab Urial. This study demonstrates that the novel DNA barcoding approach is a robust tool to detect nematode parasites from faecal samples of Punjab Urial. This method can be used to detect nematode infections in wild and domestic hosts for surveillance and population conservation.

DNA Isolated from evidence stains help to exclude an innocent suspect or to identify a perpetrator upon PCR-based typing. This study reports extraction and quantification of DNA from human saliva deposited on fruits. The research work was conducted at Department of Forensic Sciences, University of Health Sciences, Lahore and WTO laboratory of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore. Methodology: DNA from saliva deposited on bitten fruits. DNA from 55 samples were extracted by Chelax method, Quantifiler® DNA Quantification Kit was used for quantification of the extracted samples and amplification of DNA was done in 7500 Real-Time PCR systems (Applied Biosystems, Foster City, CA). Total 55 samples including controls (positive and negative controls) were collected from bitten fruits by sterile swabs. Results: All sample swabs with h...

In this perspective, this article aims to link environmental responsive entrepreneurship with sustainable development through empirical evidences from developing country. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to validate the environmental Kuznets curve hypothesis to confirm the achievement of sustainable development goals in Pakistan. We use the combined mean estimator of the autoregressive distribution lag model and GMM model to determine the long-term relationship between the variables and analyze the environmental Kuznets curve hypothesis. We found U-shaped environmental Kuznets curves in Pakistan. Further results show long-term relationship using the PMG-ARDL estimator. Our findings indicate the presence of EKC, U-shaped EKC. This means that at a certain level of economic growth, a 1% increase in per capita income can lead to reductions in environmental pollution by 2.88%, 4.54%, and 2.48%. Therefore, governments and policy makers should strengthen policies to reduce environmental pollution and, more importantly, formulate green financing policies to encourage aspiring environmental entrepreneurs to establish environmentally driven enterprises, promote the use of environmental products to reduce environmental problems, and achieve sustainable development in Pakistan.
