It brings together technology and social networks, and the interactivity that creates business value.
Web 2.0: The Business Model, an edited volume, is the first reference that integrates the business implications of Web 2.0/3.0, along with its linkage to business. The editors’ discussions emphasize three major components of Web 2.0: social networks analysis, recommendation systems and community building. This volume also includes a number of successful business models for business exploitation using Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 with various case studies.
Web 2.0: The Business Model is designed for professionals working as policy makers, corporate quality managers, and government officers in IT, as well as for researchers, professors and advance-level students in computer science and business management.

In the wide-ranging area of knowledge management, the issue of knowledge exchange in networked environments emerges in several application fields, and is treated with different approaches.
Building the Knowledge Society on the Internet: Sharing and Exchanging Knowledge in Networked Environments proposes a vast panorama of research on the topic while presenting a variety of viewpoints, approaches, and indications of the shared elements intended as the foundations of an emerging and fascinating multidisciplinary field.

It incorporates the culture and infrastructure required to make a 'virtual transformation' so that 'seamless connectivity' in any part of the country could be made possible.
Enterprise Architects, in their endeavor to achieve Enterprise Integration, have limited guidance... more Enterprise Architects, in their endeavor to achieve Enterprise Integration, have limited guidance on how best to use Enterprise Models and Modeling Tools to support their practice. It is widely recognized that the practice of engineering enterprises needs a number of models, but how to maintain the relation between these models with ease is still a problem. Model interoperability is an issue on multiople counts:
- How to interchange models between enterprise modeling tools?
- How to maintain the interdependencies between models - whether they describe the enterprise on the same level (but from different points of view), or from the same point of view (but on different levels of abstraction and granularity)?
- How to maintain a coherent and evolving set of enterprise models in support onf continuous change processes?
- How to use and reuse enterprise models as a knowledge resource?
The answers to these questions are of great importance to anyone who is implementing ISO9001:2000 requirements, whether through using enterprise architecture practice or not - although it can be argued that a well executed architecture practice should satisfy ISO9001 without additional effort.
This volume attacks the problem on three fronts:
1. Authors working in international standardisation and tool development as well as in enterprise modeling research present the latest developments in semantic integration;
2. Authors who are practitioners of, or conducting active research in, enterprise architecting methodologies give an account on the latest developments and strategic directions in architecture frameworks and methodologies;
3. Authors who use or develop information integration infrastructures present best practice and future trends of this aspect of enterprise integration.

Intensive cooperation with suppliers has become an integral part of production management. In recent years two further developments have gained ground. On the one hand enterprises have been specialising and concentrating on their core competencies with outsourcing as a consequence, on the other hand globalization has intensified the range of choice among suppliers. Increased dependence on suppliers called for new forms of cooperative ventures. Strategic and legal issues had to be considered and production management had to include sophisticated logistic chain management. These developments have led to the concept of `Extended Enterprise'.
Among many other topics, this book discusses:
co-operation between companies;
supply chain management;
agile and virtual management;
integration of the logistic chain; and
production and logistical strategies.

Firstly, it aims to investigate the available papers on the effect of gamification elements to explain behavioural changes through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Secondly, based on the SLR, it proposes a four-step SEM (Structural Equation Model)-based approach that can be used to validate the effects of gamification on behavioural change and can be further applied in the context of a research project that aims to lower maritime plastic pollution in coastal areas. The SLR approach provides an overview of empirical studies that successfully measure the three identified objectives, i.e., increased (O1) usage of a web platform, (O2) awareness, and (O3) participation in behaviour, and it focuses on SEM to collect empirical results. Findings from the SLR highlight multiple research shortcomings, such as the lack of a unified taxonomy for gamification and motivational affordances, the absence of studies soundly linking gamification elements to ...

In the heart of the application, lies a novel -high efficiency- compressing device able to transform thermal energy into potential energy from a working fluid and enabling solar thermal collectors to generate twice as must electricity as solar photovoltaic panels at nearly half the cost. The proposed compressor tackles the inherent disadvantages of conventional compressors, by reducing the number of moving parts and being capable of handling fluids in multiple phases. Moreover, the compressor is compatible with typical installations that would otherwise include a standard compressor, as well with installations where an abundance of thermal energy and a need for compressing a working fluid coexist. This paper presents the core concept of the research venture, provides the technical details and operation of the proposed innovative compressor and finally discusses the potential market innovation and impact of the invention. The ultimate objective of the research presented in this paper is to introduce to the market the first solar application with the capacity to harness the heat absorbed by domestic SWHs.

Conventional routing software is developed to solve vehicle routing problem and help managers and planners in decision making. Simultaneously, specific constraints and different VRP (Vehicle Routing Problem) variants are considered each time, such as the Capacitated, the Multi Depot and the Pickup and Delivery VRP. However, the last few years the need for more reliable deliveries and better customer services arose. In addition, reducing travel distance, travel cost and environmental impact are important factors encountered in urban freight transportation. Therefore, routing software needs to take into account multiple constraints. Such constraints are traffic congestion, speed limits, transportation regulations and restricted zones. These constraints affect mainly Time dependent VRP, VRP with Time Windows, Dynamic VRP and Green VRP. Data collection and processing are essential in routing software for solving these variants and offering the best solution. The methods for solving these problems, along with technological achievements, including cloud computing, can lead to efficient, easily adaptable routing software. Such software solutions can eventually render companies with complex transportation and logistics problems, competitive. The scope of this paper is to describe the concept and methodological approach for the development of such a routing and scheduling system, operating in a cloud environment. The definition of its requirements and the development of the system is the main purpose of an ongoing research project, being in its first stages of system’s analysis and design.

instrument for emergency response in the context of a recent crisis event. The case
of the 2013 disaster, when typhoon Haiyan hit Philippines is examined by
analyzing nine consecutive days of Twitter messages and comparing them to the
actual events. The results indicate that during disasters, Twitter users tend to post
messages to enhance situation awareness and to motivate people to act.
Furthermore, tweets were found reliable and provided valuable information
content, supporting the argument that Twitter presents a very good potential to
become a useful tool in situations where rapid emergency response is essential
