Indicator 15.3.1 of sustainable development goals reflects the ratio of the area of degraded land to the total land area of the assessed area, and degradation is considered as an integral indicator of such parameters as land productivity, soil organic matter content and type of land use. It is established that when using remote sensing data obtained from open sources, which serve as a basis for calculating land degradation indices by the Trends.Earth tool via QGIS software, it is possible to establish such changes at the administrative level (map scale 1: 100000) and spatio-temporal analysis of such changes. At the same time, it is difficult to ensure higher spatial resolution, which would allow th...

With the development of human society, the demand for land is also growing. In order to make better use of land resources, scientifically plan land use, protect land resources, obtain maximum economic benefits, and achieve sustainable social and economic development, access to land information is very important. Cartography, which originated from the production activities of human society, has a close relationship with the land. With the development of modern information technology, more and more new technologies have emerged, which has promoted the development and change of cartography, network information technology and database technology. This development has also promoted the emergence and development of spatial data infrastructures (SDI). These changes make the acquisition of land information easier, and the types and quantities of information acquired are more diversified and huge.

For an approximate assessment of the saline soils localization, satellite images of Landsat-8 with a resolution capacity of 30 m were used. Of the total area of the investigated territory, 111809 hectares, the plain part itself occupies about 75 thousand hectares, and the area of saline soils is 21503 ha. Consequently, within the plain part of the valley, suitable for agricultural use, saline soils, that require hydraulic engineering and (probably) chemical reclamation, occupy 28.7% of the area. Saline soils are least widespread in the western part of the plain, and most-in the central part at the foot of the Ararat Mount. In the eastern part, saline soils alternate with hydromorphic (overmoistened) soils.

MapServer rendering of land valua on parameters can be solved with MapServer services. Another problem with web mapping of land parameters is the ques on of the qualita ve and quan ta ve characteris cs of the data that will be used to create the mapping materials. Currently, there are well-developed web-mapping technologies in the world that allow you to visualize the indicators and parameters of land and their condi on by means of geo-mapping using a variety of techniques for displaying them to the user. Currently, the main features are: Map Server open source and ArcGIS Server commercial pla orm. Expanding the web mapping are the priority of expanding the pale e of imaging tools and improving ways to display complex a ribute, including simultaneous, informa on in combina on with mapping images, while developing clientserver technologies to implement OGC tasks using web 3.0 and web 4.0.

Many geographic information systems used elevation data as the primary data for analysis, modeling, etc. A digital elevation model (DEM) is a modern representation of the continuous variations of relief over space in digital form. Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) are important source for prediction of soil erosion parameters. The potential of global open source DEMs (SRTM, ASTER, ALOS) and their suitability for using in modeling of erosion processes are assessed in this study. Shumsky district of Ternopil region, which is located in the Western part of Ukraine, is the area of our study. The soils of Shumsky district are adverselyaffected by erosion processes. The analysis was performed on the basis of the characteristics of the hydrological network and relief. The reference DEM was generated from the hypsographic data(contours) on the 1:50000 topographical map series compiled by ...

The rational fresh water management in agriculture under future climate change conditions is of great importance. The hydrological regime of a river has huge impact on the environment of the surrounding area. Creating reservoirs, changes the landscape of river valleys and lake basins. Changes in the hydrological regime of the river and the process taking place in the coastal zone are reflected in land cover, wildlife and micro-climatic conditions. In the area closer to the shore line of the reservoir, there is greater amplitude of fluctuations in the level of ground water due to low rate of filtration behind fluctuations in the level of the reservoir. The interaction of water reservoirs with the environment, especially with the nature of the catchment area is substantially different from the natural water bodies. Analysis was done using G...

The essential heterogeneity of soil cover in areas with microdepressions of topography in the plain Forest-Steppe zone of Ukraine is revealed. According to water regime and properties soils of flat areas diagnosed as typical chernozem, on the slopes – meadow-chernozem, at the bed of depressions - chernozem-meadow and meadow. In areas without expressed microdepressions significant heterogeneity of soils is found in a depth of carbonates, and therefore - in their properties and fertility. This requires improving the methods of large-scale and detailed soils maps compiling and correction of methods in perennial experiments in agriculture establishing. Keywords: soil, microdepressions, carbonate, heterogeneity, Forest-Steppe.

Direct effect of reservoirs on the environment has already explored multilaterally [2, 7]. Last time degradation processes in river deltas because of flow regulation attract attention as well [3-5]. Nevertheless, the important aspect of the interaction of reservoirs and rivers turned out to be insufficiently explored. That is delta-like landscapes formation in the place of emptying rivers into such water bodies. Actually new deltas with hydromorphic landscapes and peculiar regimes of surface and ground waters, flora and soil cover are formed in the upper part of reservoirs. New components of relief are aroused due to sediment runoff accumulation, banks destruction, and regressive erosion; overgrow with vegetation, accumulation of organic matter, etc. Just such processes we explored in detail in arid zone of Asia (the Kapchagay reservoir on the Ili River in Kazakhstan) and in semiarid zone of Europe (the Dnepr cascade of water reservoirs in Ukraine). However, these processes occur in many reservoirs in the world (in North and South America, Africa, etc.) and they are global in nature. Newly formed hydromorphic deltaic landscapes include terrestrial and littoral ecosystems, and vast areas of aquatic vegetation. Therefore, we should attract special attention of scientists and managers to such deltas study, utilization and protection. Space imagery gives us a huge possibility for new deltas formation studying for a long time. Especially open access to some archives of NASA (Landsat-5 and Landsat-7 images) became very useful for this aim.
