Heeeey. Things've been -dead- around here. I know we're a new community and all, and its ok--but since i've noticed a recent influx of new members, i thought it'd be a good opportunity to give a shoutout and say hello, encourage you folks to introduce yourselves and possibly post a picture or a request. :DFor those of you that dont know-- I'm Syn, i'm your friendly local admin, and i'm happy to field any questions you may have!So don't be shy, y'all. Okay, I'm gonna post this request again; I'd really appreciate photos featuring a reasonably strong contrast of light and shadow, because my current obsession is with the way light interacts with a body. Le Intro. Well, basically, i'm here for the same reasons Blakey is here. I encouraged him to go with his idea to make this community and in turn he gave me Mod powers. *flex* I'm in this mostly for the unique references. i like unique poses and bodies (which rules out using things like magazine models and porn for this sort of thing) and i when i draw characters in my art, i like them to be varied as life. Also, it is freaking hard to find decent nonsmutty pictures of normal people (because normal people are usually too shy to photograph themselves!). So i hope this community fleshes out and becomes productive unto itself. I also hope to be able to bring some more pictures to the table for y'alls. (not having a camera of my own puts a damper on these things.Anyway. That's me! Current Mood: cheerful (Comment on this) |

An intro, eh? Well, here goes.I joined mostly because i enjoy being in pictures that shows a bit, or a lot of, flesh. I am an artist, but i can't draw. One of the ways i express myself is via photography and in the two-odd years since i turned 18, i've taken a lot of pictures of myself. I'm usually pretty happy to share these, and so, i do. most of what i take these days is artistic, rather than dirty. honestly, i think the human body, reguardless of sex, is a beautiful thing reguardless of what the media tells me looks good, and therefore deserves to be shown off. (which is why i'm a member of an absurd number of other nudity communities. i'm not a pervert, i swear) So, i'm pretty much here to share my own pictures, and to admire the other people who post. it occurs to me that /I/ haven't made an intro post (oops!) so here goes.I started nude_refs because I was having difficulty getting ahold of nude reference photos. I offered some photos of myself to artists I knew, as well, because hey, I'd just found out how hard it is. Thus, this, where hopefully people will be able to get ahold of nude reference photos.So, to sum up, I'm here to both post, and get, photos. Hopefully they'll serve my purposes, and one day I'll have some drawings I'm happy enough with to post. I do like to show off:) (Comment on this) |

first request Okay, I guess I can make the first request-ish post, so here goes.My personal current obsession is light - and shadow - on skin. So, what I'm looking for is anything with strong or stark lighting, particularly side lighting which will create interesting shadows.Thanks, guys.ETA: Nothing in comments here, please.
