We support all standard formats including 8mm, 16mm and 35mm, large gauge formats such as 65mm, 70mm and IMAX with options available for most non-standard and unusual gauge film.
Audio tracks on film are also digitised including magnetic, variable density optical or variable area optical formats. Combined optical or magnetic audio is captured during picture scanning while separate audio is transferred on its own and synced to picture.
HD to 4K Resolution
Scan any film format high-definition up to 4K resolution. Nulight is one of the very few facilities in the UK that can scan 8mm and 9.5mm at 4K natively and without upscaling.
Every film reel is unique and we can advise you what resolution, bit depth and scanning technique is best suited for your film in order to capture the most detail for the best value.
True Colours
Colours are captured during scanning using a true RGB 444 sensor with three times the sampling size of an ordinary bayer camera sensor, eliminating possible interpolation artefacts and allowing us to obtain the widest possible gamut.
The end result is not only more accurate reproduction of the picture but more vivid and life-like colours.
