So I have a project that has mostly taken over my life. We are in the process of making a 2012, vintage inspired, nerdy pin up calendar. All your favorite geek franchises done in 40s-50s style. Life has gone hectic :) Been working on other websites (including one for myself) Shot a friend's wedding the other day, that was fun. And hopefully will be doing an awesome shoot with a new model in the next few weeks. OH did I mention I'm going back to school and classes start in 2 weeks? And that I'm moving sometimes this month. And then Dragon'Con is the first weekend in September. GAH I love it... LoL

As far as suggestions go, all of my work is technically photo manipulation rather than painting, so I wouldn't have any real advice other than to take a look at all the great tutorials they have on here and other photoshop sites.
