Israeli actor and former commando Lior Raz, star of the hit Netflix series “Fauda,” played real-life hero by going to help his “brothers in arms” in a city bombarded by Hamas.
Raz, 51, posted a video of himself ducking and cursing as he takes cover behind a wall while rockets fly overhead.
“Accompanied by Yohanan Plesner and Avi Issascharoff, I headed down south to join hundreds of brave ‘brothers in arms’ volunteers who worked tirelessly to assist the population in the south of Israel,” he wrote on Instagram.
“We were sent to the bombarded town of Sderot to extract two families. No fear!” the gruff actor added.
Like Raz, Issascharoff, 50, co-creator of “Fauda,” served in the IDF’s elite Duvdevan Unit 217, which is known as the “Mista’aravim,” soldiers who infiltrate Arab communities in disguise.
Plesner is president of the Israel Democracy Institute and previously served as a member of the Knesset, Israel’s parliament.

He, too, has solid military credentials, having served as an officer in the vaunted Sayeret Matkal commando unit.
In “Fauda,” which means “chaos” in Arabic, Raz played the part of Doron Kavillo, who worked undercover in the Gaza Strip, where he was a commander in the Mista’aravim unit during the third season.

“We cannot get into the Gaza Strip as Israelis,” he told The Post in 2020. “It’s too dangerous and it’s prohibited. It’s kind of a different country.” So, in order to make everything look as realistic as possible, Raz and series co-creator Avi Issacharoff had to get creative.
Raz also played Israeli tour guide Segev Azulai in the Netflix thriller “Hit and Run,” where he avenges his wife’s murder by traveling to the Big Apple.
