🌊 Meet our brand-new initiative! 🌊 Introducing the Offshore Wind Net Positive Challenge presented by Southerly Ten! Australia’s FIRST offshore wind (OSW) innovation challenge! To date “no net loss” has been industry best practice for offshore infrastructure projects… But what if the OSW industry went beyond this? OIO and Southerly Ten believe that innovative solutions can help responsible offshore wind have a net-positive impact – improving climate outcomes whilst actively enhancing biodiversity. And that is the aim of this challenge 💡 We’ll be revealing more at our upcoming INNOVOCEAN event on 20 November, where Southerly Ten’s Chief Development Officer, Erin Coldham, will join our “Shaping Australia’s Sustainable Ocean Economy” panel. Get your ticket ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gsSkgEw7The Offshore Wind Net Positive Challenge aims to create opportunities for innovative Australian and New Zealand organisations to work with the emerging OSW industry, enabling it to be a force for good for the climate, ocean, and biodiversity. Does that sound like you? Apply now ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gQ7cs9HU - Moananui and Ocean Impact Organisation are living proof of the power of collaboration from these kind of events. Earlier this year we met with the amazing team at Ocean Impact Organisation and struck up a strategic partnership that is already unlocking new opportunities – like the investment in two of our Moananui partners (Pinpoint Earth, Ocean Intelligence) and helping accelerate sustainable blue economy growth across both regions. The Innovocean event looks like it’ll be another amazing experience this year – secure your spot if you can.Joel Bowater Ali Kennard Jodie Kuntzsch Elisa-Marie Dumas

City Development in Nelson NZ
2w
Nelson has always been a city connected to the ocean, with the Waterfront/Haven, Port and Marina being the gateway to the city centre and home to New Zealand's largest blue economy. Recently, Nelson City Council has been reviewing the Waterfront Precinct. This follows the Marina Masterplan and exciting developments such as the fish market trial, Moananui, Port Nelson Limited Slipway redevelopment, and Nelson Marina Promenade. So, Council is now seeking a consultant to produce a succinct summary document: the Whakatū Nelson Waterfront Precinct Development Plan (WPDP). The plan is to be an updated/revised summary of the non-operational 2016 Haven Precinct Development Plan, and a report on the background research, stakeholder consultation, findings and analysis completed to develop the summary document. More information is available on GETS here: https://lnkd.in/giDV9SV8 - We’re thrilled to see our partner Snap Group featured in the NBR! Their startup, Seaweave, has secured vital funding to scale production of their cutting-edge tech that automates data collection and monitors underwater environments to help aquaculture businesses boost productivity. This achievement highlights the strong foundation of support and collaboration that has fuelled Seaweave’s journey. As Snap Group CEO Chris Rodley put it, “Seaweave owes its very existence to the support and collaboration provided by Moananui.” With the global aquaculture market projected to reach $680b by 2030, this is an exciting time for growth!
