Pre-Oberlin Location: Cheshire, CT
Some interesting details about the town/city in which you live: We're the bedding plant capital of Connecticut. How exciting. More exciting to me: The Cheshire High School Marching Ram Band is the USSBA Group 5 champions. And I was the drum major. Win.
Music: Mostly jazz, classical, and rock; but I can potentially be interested in any genre. If I like it, I like it.
Books: The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy books are my most favorite ever. I used to be a huge sci-fi/fantasy geek, but now I mostly read random teen angst/girly/manga books. Yeah, junk food. Random stuff I like (not complete at all): The Princess Bride, The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat, The Great Gatsby, The Catcher in the Rye, and the authors Terry Pratchett, Orson Scott Card, J.R.R. Tolkien, Anne McCaffrey, Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman, and Arthur C. Clarke.
What book(s) are you reading right now? Good, bad, boring? The Lucifer Effect, which is by Philip Zimbardo, the guy that did the Stanford Prison Experiments. It's about why and how good people go bad. Veeery interesting.
Movies: Again, not complete: The Princess Bride, Star Wars, The Breakfast Club, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, Borat, Ghost World, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Spirited Away, Grease, Aladdin, Knocked Up, Spiderman 3 (only for the pie scene, if you know what I mean)
So what the hell do you do with all that "spare time"?: HAHAHAHAHA. Well, this is a good time to mention I'm a classical saxophone major in the Con. Besides music-ing myself, I enjoy DCI, crafts, writing, doodling, being a Grey's Anatomy fangirl, playing Wii, being random, dancing wildly around my house, etc.
