Welcome! You've found 
obsessive100. This community is run by me, 
enriana. Like other "100 icon" challenges (such as icons100 or iconfiend100), this community's purpose is to house the creations somewhat insane icon makers who decide to make 100 icons in 10 weeks.
Unlike other "100 icon" challenges, obsessive100 is not fandom based. Here, the icon sets you will be making will not be focused on pairings, video games, movies, or TV shows.
Here, they will be based all on a certain color, or a certain poet, or all be about cats, or feature lyrics by a certain musician, or art by a certain artist - you get the gist. Or, if you're feeling indecisive, you can just make a completely random set of 100 icons!

How To Participate
1. First things first, join the community. You must be a member to participate.
2. Go to this post right here. This is the claims post, where you choose the subject that you'll be making 100 icons of. Please read the rules/info listed on that post and then comment in the format specified.
3. Wait to be approved. This should only take a day or two, tops. Once you are approved, you will be given posting access and your claim will be added to the list.
4. Go here for your theme list. It contains 50 themes. 50 of your 100 icons must be somehow based on each theme on the list. These themes exist to make your icon creating more challenging and more fun. How you interpret, and icon, each theme is completely up to you. The other 50 icons in your set, (commonly referred to as "Artist's Choice"), are completely up to you, as the name suggests.
4a. If you don't like the first theme list, there is a second one here (done by jiatra). The same rules as listed above apply to this list. Also, you can't mix and match the lists - it's one or the other.
5. Begin iconing!
How To Post
For the sake of order, please use this form when you post icons. You can change it here and there, but keep the basic format.
Subject: The thing/person you are iconing, e.g. "Emily Dickinson poetry" or "The Ocean".
Batch: What batch you're on - e.g. "Batch #3". Which number of icons are in that batch - e.g. "(15-25)".
Progress: How many icons you've done so far, and how many you have to go, e.g. "33/100".
Themes: Which themes, if any, are included in this batch, e.g. "Pure, Laughing, Freedom, Glee".
Credits: This is where credits for bases, brushes, textures, quotes, and everything else goes.
Previous Batches: Optional. You can include links to your previous batches here.
Info: Here is where you put info you think people need to know - who to credit, your rules for usage, disclaimers, things like that. If there is nudity, please include that info.
In the tags, please put both your subject and username.
~ There must be at least 10 icons per post.
~ Up to three teasers are allowed, everything else must be under a cut.
~ If there is nudity, please include that in your info.
~ Fake cuts are okay, but you must state obviously that they are, in fact, fake.

FAQ
What pictures can I use for my icons?
Stock pictures, pictures from books or graphic novels, pictures from movies or TV shows - whatever you think applies. No limits! But please include credit or a link back if the artist whose work you're using requests it.
Can I make bases instead of icons for the challenge?
No, you cannot. You CAN make textless icons.
What's the difference?
Bases involve just cropping an image, resizing it, and adding a border. Sometimes contrast/brightness is adjusted. Textless icons involve cropping an image, resizing it, adding brushes, textures, masks, other images, and more. Bases are made for other people to edit by other icon makers adding text and brushes to them. Textless icons are made purposefully to have no text, and they should not be edited by other icon makers without explicit permission from the creator.
I want to claim "____" but you say in the claims post that it doesn't belong here. What now?
First, go check out the affiliates. Chances are that you can find a place to claim the subject of your choice somewhere there. If you've looked everywhere and there is no place for it, leave a comment on the claims post and I'll see what I can do.
Is animation allowed?
Yes.
Can I use the same picture twice?
Yes, but only if it's someway modified - different crop, different brushes, different textures, different text, etc. Creativity is key.
Are text-only/quote icons allowed?
As long as it fits with your claim, sure.
Can I make more than 100 icons for a subject?
Sure thing.
Can I collaborate with a partner for these 100 icons?
If this person is your other half in terms of iconing and you cannot make decent icons without him/her, go ahead. But if you just don't feel like making 100 icons all on your own, this may not be the best place for you.
Is it okay if I include icons I've made in the past in my 100 icons?
No, the challenge is to create 100 new icons from your subject.
I don't make icons. Can I still snag/use the icons posted here?
Of course! Just be sure to comment and credit appropriately. =)
You said we have 10 weeks to complete the icons, does that start from when our claim is approved or when we post our first batch of icons?
It starts when your claim is approved.
Is there a time frame for when I need to post my icon batches?
No, as long as you keep to your deadline, you can post your batches whenever you want. A batch each week, all of them at once near the end, whatever works for you.
