London Aquatics Centre (original) (raw)
Events staged at the venue since the Games include the British Swimming Championships, Sport Relief, the Invictus Games, FINA Diving, the European Aquatics Championships and a number of community galas.
Following the Olympic Games, the venue was downsized to ensure post-Games sustainability. Temporary seating and specific Olympic Games-time elements were removed as planned, and the venue underwent an extensive transformation and reopened to the public in March 2014. This world-class venue houses two 50m Olympic-sized pools, a 25m diving pool with boards and platforms up to 10m, dry diving zone, a state-of-the-art 50-station gym, a cafe and creche.
Greenwich Leisure Limited secured a 10-year contract from the LLDC, starting in 2012, to run and maintain the venue. More than 50 schools use it for lessons, with 300 pupils per day benefitting from the venue.
