Flashback: Best of Season Six (original) (raw)
Here's the final trailer for the series finale:
If you follow Psych on Facebook, they also recently put up an album of 8 guest stars and quotes about them working on Psych. Cary Elwes puts it best: "Never have I had more fun working on a comedy series, simply because that fun permeated the whole show, season after season."
Season Six had a lot of great moments. What were some of your favorite episodes?
6x01 Shawn Rescues Darth Vader
The lie detector scene really had me believe that this was the moment where Lassie and Juliet find out the truth. Instead, we have a great scene where Shawn beats a lie detector test. Really well done but also makes me not believe in polygraph tests as credible evidence ever again
6x02 Last Night Gus
One of the two best TV Hangover-style episodes ever aired, the other being Trophy Wife 1x10, The Harrisons' Christmas Hangover. Though this is the best cable TV Hangover-style episode ever aired.
6x03 This Episode Sucks
The introduction of Marlowe! The fact that Lassie has been building up a tolerance to chloroform! Not to mention some great riffing by James and Dule on vampires. This was an episode I was surprised by by how much I really did like it
6x06 Shawn, Interrupted
In this episode Psych touches on the grey areas of "insanity" and also manage to have some fun with Gus as the inappropriate orderly and some inevitable but great "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" references.
6x07 In for a Penny...
William Shatner is amazing and it was really interesting to see another layer of Juliet's personal life. Also, for a fake psychic Shawn is really easily charmed by Frank
6x09 Neil Simon's Lover Retreat
The kiss between Shawn and Juliet in the dark is probably one of the most memorable and cute TV kisses for me. But besides that, there are so many great moments from this episode: Shawn hiding his engagement ring in his Nintendo DS (how is that even possible?) and his subsequent freakouts over it, the pairing of Henry/Lassie/Gus out on the town (I love when Lassie and Gus spend time together because they're automatically more tolerant of each other without Shawn and it's a good dynamic), Jason Priestley, hot air balloons, and more.
6x10 Indiana Shawn and the Temple of the Kinda Crappy, Rusty Old Dagger
This episode had more than its usual share of twists, and Despereaux knows how to fake a death. I was totally convinced, by the way. Despereaux is wicked clever, and the scene where Shawn tries to stick the key into anything at Yerden's estate had me dying.
6x11 Heeeeere's Lassie
This episode was, not gonna lie, a little scary for me. Tim Omundsen really did a great job portraying Lassie slowly descending into madness and the mystery was good too. Also, you gotta love Sara Rue.
6x12 Shawn and the Real Girl
Bachelorette parody, enough said.
6x13 Let's Doo-Wop It Again
I miss Kenan Thompson, but Blackappella lives! It was interesting to see Shawn on the sidelines, as well as seeing Marlowe return. To be honest, I wasn't really sure where the whole Marlowe thing would go but her and Lassie are just so sweet on it's other, it's hard not to be charmed by Kristy Swanson
6x14 Autopsy Turvy
Honestly, I sort of pegged Grace as gunning for Woody's job from the beginning but this episode went delightfully further, giving us a great ride and giving us French Stewart's great performance as Whip.
6x16 Santabarbaratown
I can't even talk about this episode. What seems to be a routine mystery ends up with one of Henry's old co-workers SHOOTING HIM POINT BLANK And okay, it really wasn't a routine mystery, it was definitely more complicated than the usual case of the week. But still, no one could have predicted that cliffhanger. Damn you Psych, for luring me in with pop culture references and banter and then nbd, having one of your main characters betrayed and shot down. Honestly, I really wasn't sure whether or not Henry would be alive, it could have propelled Shawn into a more mature and dark place if his dad had died.
