Aim of the study was to collect information about organic livestock farming in Brandenburg.
In comparison with other German states, organic farms in Brandenburg are
bigger and the soil quality is worse. Thus, beef-suckler and sheep production is more
important than dairy, pig or poultry production. Farmers mention problems with climate
(low rainfall), lack of agricultural area and problems with the marketing.
