Esse texto trata de analisar a trajetória do movimento alternativo ou ecológico na agricultura, tendo como referência, principalmente, dados de estudos realizados no Brasil, França e Alemanha. São privilegiados na análise os aspectos relacionados com a origem do movimento; a expansão e os atores sociais; as estratégias de organização e a relação com a natureza; a organização social e reconstruçao das relações sociais; os agricultores, a sociedade e o mercado. Finaliza-se com uma síntese da trajetória identificando os principais momentos que levaram à institucionalização do movimento ecológico.

Summary translation

This article looks at the trajectory of the alternative or ecological movement in agriculture, based primarily on data from studies carried out in Brazil, France and Germany. I focus on the following aspects: the movement's origin and growth; the social actors involved; the organizational strategies pursued; its relationship with nature, social organization and the reconstruction of social relationships; farmers, society and the market. I conclude with a synthesis ofthe ecology movement's trajectory, identifying the main factors that lead to its institutionalization.
