Summary in the original language of the document
Agricultural development is key to the well-being of people on the planet as the world’s population continues to grow and access to food remains a pressing global issue. The level of global hunger remained almost unchanged from 2021 to 2022, but was still significantly higher than before the COVID-19 pandemic, affecting approximately 9.2% of the world’s population in 2022, compared to 7.9% in 20191. At the same time, more and more recently, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been hearing about the need to transform the world’s food systems and move towards more sustainable agriculture.
