The tool analyses technical solutions adopted to improve housing conditions of sows and piglets and to increase welfare and safety of animals and farmers in outdoor pig production systems.
The proposed solutions take into account species-specific behaviour to limit piglet mortality due to crushing by the sow. These solutions overcome climate issues, facilitate pasture rotation and improve working conditions for farmers.
