My introductory post of suchness. [Jan. 23rd, 2006|10:09 pm]Original Manga
[mood** |boredbored] [music** Goo Goo Dolls - Slide]Hello there, My Name's Abi/Safty I'm really new to this, but I've had this story for a few years now and I've recently decided I wanted to make it into a web-comic my problem is I'm not very leet with HTML and making websites, Livejournal will probaly be the more likely option because I know how to use it. ..Oddly enough My story doesn't have a name either, all the characters have names...but the series itself doesn't, I'll post up a hell of alot more in the future including character profiles, images and random bits of story I've written to go with it, Any helpful advice would be muchly aprreciated, can't wait to hear from y'all-Safty

When a line is not a line [Oct. 20th, 2005|10:39 am]Original Manga
Just reading the news that a major manga-ka in Japan has been caught red-handed plagiarizing from other manga. For those of you who don't read Anime News Network (and I don't blame you for that, most of the time, they prove they're as unprofessional a bunch of pseudo-journalists as possible), the word is out: manga artist Yuki Suetsugu copied panels from her recent works Flower of Eden and Ikkitosen from a variety of other sources, from the manga Tenjo Tenge, Slam Dunk, and Real, to album covers and photographs of model Kate Moss. Moreso, she has admitted it via her publisher, Kodansha, which has also apologized for the fracas (and to date, has stopped the current publication of Flower of Eden, as well as pulling all of her other works from shelves and issued a recall). As of now, her career is toast, and the best she'll be able to do at this point insofar as the industry goes is sell dojinshi at Comiket under an assumed name (and possibly with a stand-in, should pictures of her be in the public).( more behind the cutCollapse )

[mood |strange...] [music The Adicts- Fifth Overture]'allo, I guess I'm new here, well, not much to guess about it, I AM new here. So first off, thanks for putting together this group-forum for posting-venting-testing-and offering snactuary full of useful criticism for non-Japanese manga artists (original, western, whatever you want to call it... frankly to me it's all manga as far as I'm concerned. As for examples of my stuff, the best place is to go here which is my official website. Look in the folio section, under iain/GILGRIM and meander and gawk as much as you can stomach. Also I'm going to go ahead and post a bit of something that i've been working on lately (and lovingly) called ( THE CEMETARIANS CHAPTER ZEROCollapse )

Chosen: An Online Manga [Jun. 16th, 2005|10:11 pm]Original Manga
[**mood** |deviousPIMPING!]I just joined all these webcomic communities, so I figured I'd better throw out my comic link to bring in some traffic. Chosen_When the world was young and new, there was the Demon and the Great Angel. The Angel looked down to the new world and saw that the Demon had come from the Below to claim the Earth for itself. The Great Angel went to the earth to battle the Demon, creating the three races in their struggle. At the end of the battle, the Angel overpowered the Demon by splitting it apart, trapping both inside mortal bodies. Those six became the Chosen, reincarnating life after life, as long as the Demon and Angel's power lived inside them._ARGH DRAMA! .... ¬_¬
