Anime NebrasKon newsletter So it was brought up at the con meeting that although we have a mailing list, it's hardly ever used. I brought up the idea of a newsletter, and long-story-short - I've been put in charge of it.

What I want from you guys are ideas. Names, content, style, duration... ANYTHING you want to see.

My goal is to have a 1-2 page newsletter (the first issue) done and available for download by the end of July. Hopefully, this will be a once-a-month posting but we'll see.

First thing first. What do we want to call it? Some names I had brainstormed:
- The Spicy Beagle
- One of Us
- Real Ninjas Wear Red

For submission ideas, reply or contact me on the AN forums. I'm setting the deadline for the first issue for July 11.

A random thought... Once again, I've had one of those "spark of genius" moments while in the shower. :D

Much like the Get Your Own Anime video, for another Anime NebrasKon parody commercial, we should have cosplayers of Husker Ninja and Storme in some sort of epic battle. (I want to say that they are trying to rescue Spicy Beagle from the Ghosties from Awesome Rangers 3, or with the Awesome Rangers themselves, but that's debateble. ^^)

No one's cosplayed them yet, and it would make for a good icebreaker for Opening Ceremonies. :D

What does everyone else think?

Anime Horror Picture Show It's Mystery Anime Theatre with a bit of a twist. :) In the spirit of Rocky Horror, we'd pick one episode of a popular anime (preferably a 4Kids dub) in which to reenact on stage while the real footage played in the background. The audience is encouraged to partcipate by yelling various comments or throw certain items at the stage (provided by the con with a card telling them when to throw them).

I'd love to do this at NebrasKon, and I'd gladly volunteer to get this rolling. Anyone else interested?

We also need suggestions for anime to reenact!

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Alright, I'm pretty confident in the fact that Keith and myself were not the only ones at Anime Club that bought the new Pokemon games last weekend, so I suggest that we get a Union Room going this Friday at club. We can trade, battle, swap friend codes, all that fun stuff.

help with identifying song Before school ended last semester, I burned a bunch of anime songs onto a CD. Unfortunately, I lost the piece of paper that had what songs I had burned. I was able to figure out most of them, but there is one song that I have NO CLUE as to what it is. Lathan said he is 100% sure it's from Samurai Champloo, but I need a name.

I have been nap-noted. Hmmmm...would any of you guys know a "Ruthie chan?" One alleged Ruthie chan left a note on the couch I was napping on entitled "To the Sleeping Wonder XD"

This sounds like one of the otaku Jinrui. Suspiciously Japanese suffix...roughly anime sketch on the note...and the great "XD" of doom.

Any assistance in the locating of the deadly napper-noter named Ruthie-chan would be greatly appreciated.

Err...Hi? Konnichiwa minna-san!
I'm a third year student, not usually at UNL except for summer classes, and I've been trying to find the anime club for a while. So I'm glad I found this LJ. Could someone tell me, does the club continue through the summer or not? Either way, I hope to drop by at some point in time to watch anime etc. Series I like include but are not limited to Kenshin, Peace Maker Kurogane, You're Under Arrest, Naruto, Fruits Basket, Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic, Weiss Kreuz, and about half a dozen other titles that are not immediately springing to mind. I quietly dislike and avoid hentai/yaoi/yuri. I really enjoy writing fanfic and making AMVs.
Oh, and I infinitely prefer sub to dub. ;)

cheap anime! Hollywood Video is having a nation-wide clearance of VHS tapes; 5 for $15. I was at the one in East Park Plaza in Lincoln, and they have Tenchi Muyo, DBZ, Sailor Moon, A Wind Named Amnesia, as well as other anime.

Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up!

Okay, I finally got around to joining the club LJ comm. Spose I should have done this a while ago, considering how obsessive about LJ I am, but....

Anyway, I'm Joni. You may know me from the boards as candykatt or from club as one of the quasi-official yaoi fangirls of club. One of the ones in the hallway that DOESN'T spend half her time shouting at the top of her lungs. The midget in glasses with the long hair... Yeah, there you go. That's me.

I'm a junior Classics major here at UNL. I live in Nerdhardt, spend WAY too much time on the internet, and occasionally walk around with stuffed animals on my head, just to see if anyone notices. There, me in a nutshell.

Oh, and, uh... while I'm at it... the_fota. Come help the fangirls take over the world. /shameless plug
