One of the factors which control erosion in watersheds is lithological characteristics of the watershed. In this study, after digitizing the lithological map by using ILWIS3.4 software, resistance to corrosion coefficient factor and the map of erosion susceptibility was obtained. The map of gully erosion in watershed was prepared based on the Field trials by GPS, IRS, satellite images and aerial photographs. Finally, by using statistical analysis, the map of susceptible to erosion in ILWIS software was segmented with the gully erosion map. Results showed high Correlation coefficient with 0.97 and indicated gully erosion in Ghoorichay watershed is more influenced by the kind of lithological structure.

In other hand, drought stress was main factor to decrease sugar beet performance. According to this issue, an examination was done on 2011 at greenhouse in order to Investigate Polyethylene Glycol on some elements and proline of monogerm genotypes leaf of sugar beet. Examination was done in two-factor factorial frame in a randomized complete block design with three replications. In Factor a (drought level: 1 normal irrigation, 2: Polyethylene glycol 6000 with 30% concentration) and factor b (genotype) was performed. In this study, sodium, potassium, phosphorus and leaf proline were evaluated. The results showed that there was significant difference at 1% probable level between interaction of × genotype in term of sodium, potassium and phosphorus characteristics and there was no significant difference at prolin...

Germination percentage, germination rate, root to shoot ratio (R / S) and the fresh weight of the seedlings was measured in this experiment. Investigate the genetic differences between Zea Maize varieties and drought and salt stress on seed germination and seedling growth to determine the sensitivity of its components. The results showed that different Zea Maize genotypes showed different sensitivities to salinity and drought. Zea Maize seed germination was not affected by drought But Dsd salinity on seed germination compared to 69 and 33 percent, respectively Sc308 Sabalab and grasses decreased. The maximum stress on the germination of Zea Maize seeds were Sc308. Drought had a s...

Assessment of sediment yield in soil conservation and watershed Project and implementation plan f... more Assessment of sediment yield in soil conservation and watershed Project and implementation plan for water and soil resources management is so important. Regarding to somewhere that doesn’t have enough information and statistical data such as upper river branches, Empirical models should be used to estimate erosion and sediment yield. However the efficiency and usage of these models before calibration isn’t clear. In this research, the measurement of erosion and sediment yield of 10 basins upstream of reservoirshas been estimated by RUSLE and MPSIAC empirical models. In order to compare means between measured and estimated datat-test method was applied.Theresults indicated no significant differences between means of measured and estimated sediment yield in MPSAIC model in 5% level. In contrast, T-test showed contrary results in RUSLE model. Then the applicability and priority of two models were examined by statistical methodssuch as MAE and MBE methods. By regarding to accuracy and pr...

Owing to a high spatial variability of soil hydraulic characteristics, a large number of soil samples are required for proper analysis. Nowadays, geostatistical methods are used to estimate soil parameters on the basis of limited data. The purpose of this research is to investigate the spatial variability of the permeability coefficient in different soil textures (26 soil samples) found in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The parameter values obtained indicated a normal trend in particle size distribution, whereas the values of permeability coefficient showed aberrant distribution patterns. Geostatistical analysis results indicated the best fitted theoretical model was Gaussian model and the proportion of sill/(sill + nugget...
