Roosendaal, Netherlands, 10 May 2023 – Today, Oxbo announces that its project proposal to invest in future technology for vegetable harvesting equipment will be made possible in part by a contribution from the National Growth Fund program NXTGEN HIGHTECH. Oxbo is one of a select group of companies planning to contribute new technology and smart solutions to address the need for automation and robotics in agriculture and to ensure that future agricultural machines can work safely and reliably without a driver.
“We are pleased that our project was named for support through NXTGEN HIGHTECH,” commented Roel Zeevat, Oxbo CEO. “It is an honor to receive this support; NXTGEN HIGHTECH will allow our engineering team to accelerate planned product development designed to deliver new technology for vegetable customers.”
“We are extremely excited to begin development on the disruptive concepts funded by this program,” remarked Leonardo Ungaretti, CTO for Oxbo.
With its roots deep in the mechanization of vegetable harvesting, Oxbo remains committed to developing and integrating technology to meet the needs of this important agricultural sector.
About NXTGEN HIGHTECH
This project is made possible in part by a contribution from the National Growth Fund program NXTGEN HIGHTECH. With over 330 partners, in more than 60 projects and in six essential domains, this program will make a significant contribution to the structural and sustainable economic growth in the Netherlands and offer solutions for the major societal challenges in the areas of energy transition, health, safety and food.
Including the contribution of € 450 million from the National Growth Fund, NXTGEN HIGHTECH will invest approximately € 1 billion until 2030. In doing so, we will realize an internationally leading ecosystem for high-tech equipment in the Netherlands, which will rank among the top three in Europe at least and make an additional contribution to Dutch GNP of € 6 to 11 billion per year. We will develop a new generation of high-tech equipment for the future generation of Dutch people: our children. For more information, also visit www.nxtgenhightech.nl
