oxford2006 (original) (raw)
Yay to everyone who has said they can come on Friday - can I suggest 7pm at the Grand Cafe? See you all soon!
Seeing as my last attempt met with such resounding failure, I thought I'd get oxford2006's claim on your time in early this term! So giving you all something to look forwards to after collections (and Lord knows I need that right now!), how does Friday of 1st week sound? Comment if you can come, or perhaps suggest more convenient time if you can't. Also, if you know anyone who is in the community, but isn't checking lj much let them know... Hope to see you all soon!

Look's like its off, as only two people are able to make it. Sorry!
Hopefully we can arrange something later in the term - enjoy the rest of 6th week.

I'm going to tentativly suggest Thurday evening, maybe 7.30, at the Grand Cafe (on High Street, near exam schools for anyone who doesn't know). Any problems with this?

You know what? I think its time for an oxford2006meet up. Because there are many, many, witty, clever people on my flist, and I've only actually met about 2 of you. Even though we are IN THE SAME CITY. I know some of you already know each other to varying degrees, but i think it would be fun for everyone to get together. So in a pirate-y style, Who's with me?
Any suggestions for dates/places most welcome!

quick last minute traveling question!
i am wondering what the easiest way to get to oxford (mansfield) from the airport is. i've been told by some that the oxford airline coach is the best, others have said hiring a private taxi/van is better. i am traveling with 3 other girls and we will each have 3 pieces of luggage with us. we're arriving to heathrow at 5:05 AM and will most likely be exhausted due to jetlag (flying out of the US).
also does anyone know about how far it is from mansfield to the dale building? that is where we are living!
thank you!

The Baronets of Ruddigore are cursed. Anyone who succeeds to the title has to commit a crime every day — or perish in inconceivable agony.
Robin Oakapple, a young farmer loves Rose Maybud, but both are too shy to tell the other. But Robin has a secret. He is really Sir Ruthven Murgatroyd, the rightful Baronet of Ruddigore, in disguise. His younger brother, Despard, believing Ruthven to be dead, has assumed the title. Robin's foster brother, Richard, seeking Rose for himself, tells Despard of Robin's deception, and Robin is forced to accept his true position, losing Rose to Richard in the process.
Semi-staged production, to be performed in costume with minimal set. Small moving chorus backed up by a larger seated chorus.

UK students!
Have any of you received notification that you'll be getting one?
I know you don't have to apply, I've ticked the box on my student loan form, and I'm sure I'm entitled but I still haven't heard. My college paperwork mentioned that a notification would be sent to everyone eligible of how much they were getting, and as time's ticking I'm starting to worry a little...

those of you who are coming from the States to study at Oxford:
are you getting student visas? I didn't know/think I needed one until recently. (apparently you need one if you're studying there for over 6 months...)
eep. I hope this doesn't get complicated...
also, those of you (from anywhere) going to Exeter--have you received your orientation information yet?

So...results are in...how did everyone do? I got my 3As, thank goodness, so I'll be at Keble, studying French and History, as of this October. (gah - so soon and so scary!)
I hope that everyone got their required grades, and that I'll be meeting you all at freshers' week!
All that's left now is to get my teeth into the huge French reading list I've been sent....now where's that dictionary?
