By combating these factors, tumor progression can be inhibited or limited. Natural products are sources of several bioactive phytochemicals that can interact with VEGF-promoting factors and inhibit them through various signaling pathways, thereby inhibiting cancer growth. This review provides a deeper understanding of the relation and interaction of VEGF with cancer-promoting factors and phytochemicals in order to develop multi-targeted cancer prevention and treatment.

The public sector schools of the province of Punjab Pakistan were the part of population. Random sampling technique was used to collect the data. Sample of the study was comprised of 200 (N=200) Male and Female secondary school teachers. Performance appraisal scale for secondary school teachers (PAS-SSTs) was applied to collect the data. The data were analyzed through SPSS and statistical technique, t -test was applied. Results of the study revealed that performance appraisal of male and female secondary schools teachers are same. Moreover, it was inferred from the analysis that male and female secondary school teachers differ on professional conduct and management of work schedule. The professional conduct and management of work schedule of male teachers is better than female teachers. The researchers recommended that performance appraisal system should be applied more vigorously in female secondary schools for better results.

In Study 1, an expert and usability panel examined the content validity and applicability of an initial item pool. The resultant 96 items were analyzed with exploratory factor analyses in Study 2, with the factorial structure comprising 5 factors (viz., Goals and Development, Logistics and Operations, Team and Culture, Coaching, Selection) and 33 items. Using confirmatory factor analyses, Studies 3 and 4 found support for the 5-factor structure. Study 4 also provided evidence for the OSI-SP's concurrent validity and invariance across different groups. The OSI-SP is proposed as a valid and reliable measure of the organizational stressors encountered by sport performers.

In educational organization, the conflict occurred amongst faculty members, between the administrative and faculty staff and vice versa. The prevailing conflict management styles were Integrating, Obliging, Dominating, Avoiding, and Compromising styles. The survey technique was used and the data were collected through questionnaire. The MANOVA was run to compare the styles of conflict management used by the administrators. Results of the study inferred that most of the administrators used the same conflict management styles irrespective of gender, qualification, teaching and administrative experience. However, in new universities avoiding style was widely applied by the administrators. Further studies may be conducted to explore the performance of administrators under respective styles.

Three foliar treatments (No spray, Water spray and 1% K 2 O) were applied at reproductive stage as supplementary source of potassium to soil applied (0 and 100 kg ha-1) at planting. Water stress was imposed by withholding irrigation at flowering. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design (RCBD) with split-split plot arrangement having three replications and a net plot size of 3 m x 5 m. During the experiment the data was recorded regarding growth, physiological, yield and quality traits using standard procedures and methods. After statistical analysis and interpretation the results showed that water stress at reproductive stage reduced yield, physiology and grain quality in comparison to no stress application. In overall, supplemental potassium in foliar form at reproductive stage proved best among the other two treatments (no spray and water spray) as it significantly improved yield, physiology and quality of maize under normal as well as stress conditions. The application of potassium at the time of sowing had a very little effect on maize crop due to sufficient amount of potassium present in the soil of experimental site. The supplemental foliar application of 1%, therefore, may be used to overcome the potassium deficiency under water stress.

It requires proper management for smooth teaching learning process. The major purpose of the present study was to compare conflict management styles applied by the heads of public and private secondary schools. The data was collected through the survey of randomly selected sample. The questionnaire used to gather data was developed by V. Johnson. Prior to formal administration of tool, it was piloted and reliability (Cronbach’s alpha) was calculated which was .74. The data were analyzed through SPSS and t test was applied. The results of the research shows that different styles are being used in both schools except integrating style which is commonly used in both type of schools. However, domination style is used in public sector schools as compared to compromising style which is being used in private schools. In public schools obliging style is used whereas principals of private schools used avoiding style.

These are the activities required for the smooth running of houses and living comfortable life. The purpose of the study is to highlight the female’s role in housekeeping as well as to determine the female students’ attitude towards domestic chores. In the present study an effort has been made to compare the rural and urban female students’ attitude about domestic chores during their academic career. Conveniently selected sample comprised of post graduate (master class) students from a public sector multi campus university. Analysis of data concluded that most of the female students take care of their houses as well as their families during studies. Moreover, significant difference was observed among the attitudes of rural and urban female students and the students of different disciplines towards chores.

Consistent with several previous studies testing other models, we find our model unable to price credit risk precisely and observe an illiquidity premium reflecting a credit risk component which should be incorporated into future pricing models. We also identify macroeconomic and stock market factors that help explain movements in CDS spreads beyond the levels suggested by the model. Essay 2 looks at bid and ask spreads to find evidence of quote shading where dealers manipulate their quotes in order to attract sell orders. This is something not yet studied in CDS literature and we draw on studies on the foreign exchange markets for theoretical support. We find that dealers are more likely to indulge in quote shading when firm risk increases but not close to weekends or holidays. We also look at price discovery with and without quote shading but our results are inconclusive. Using the put-call ratio as a risk level indicator, we find that price discovery in the CDS market decreases as firm risk increases. Essay 3 looks at the quality of the CDS market in the backdrop of the recent financial crisis. Previous studies have found that CDS markets lead price discovery only in the case of high risk firms and this paper tests if price discovery dynamics have shifted in favour of the CDS market since overall firm risk levels have increased. Using Grangercausality tests, we compare stock and CDS markets before and since the crisis and finds that despite an overall increase in risk levels, the stock market continues to lead the CDS market in all risk categories. We also test the CDS market for mis-reaction using Variance Ratios and find that while there was evidence of over-reaction before the crisis, CDS market is under-reacting since the crisis.

Techniques are developed to detect small concentrations of heavy metals in water; one of them is stripping voltammetry. It involves current detection against the applied voltage. The resulting voltammograms are used to quantify the heavy metals present in the water body. The current work is about manufacturing of working electrode by impregnation method to increase the detection efficiency and other characteristics. Vacuum impregnation of antimony over activated carbon was done. Four samples having 2%, 3%, 4% and 5% antimony by weight were prepared. Working electrode was prepared by holding samples over a copper structure with the help of a paraffin binder. "Square-wave Anodic Stripping Voltammetry" tests were performed in electrochemical cell with an AUTOLAB potentiostat. The correct experimental setup was first devised using several experimental arrangements of the a...
