I really didn't want to fall into the habit of only posting when there's bad or sad news, but I can't just not post this...
I had to say goodbye to Pityu today. The last few days he was getting worse. He barely could walk or stand anymore and he looked just so weary. So we took him to the vet and he was put gently to sleep. I know it was the right decision, but even though I knew this day would come - he was around 19 years old after all - it still hurts quite a lot. I want to cuddle him. I expect him to traipse around the corner any minute. He was with me half my life and it's just so strange to think he's not there anymore.
Sleep well, my little teddy bear. I'll miss you so much.

I was poked a while back and thought about updating, even though there isn't that much going on right now, but then tonight happend. Dun dun duuun.
Anyhow, Anton, my baby nephew, is doing quite well. Close to 8 months now and he's trying to stand up. Currently my sister is spending a month in Malaga with him, before it's back to work soonish. Pityu is holding up too, going on nineteen now. I'll hopefully post photos sometime soon, right now I'm a tad too shaky to sort this out.
Just got home, I was in an accident and I have the need to 'talk' about it, but there's barely anyone still awake, so I'll just ramble here.
I was picking my mother up at the airport and on the drive home - she was the one driving - pretty much around the corner of the airport, some guy thought it's a jolly good idea to make a turn without looking. There was no room to change the lane, my mother hit the brakes, but it was too late. Went straight into his side and the next thing I know is the airbag deflating in front of me, smoke everywhere and the horn going.
The car is totaled, we have a few bruises (and the other driver is okay as well), but overall we got away lucky. Will visit my doctor for an exam, just to make sure. But boy, that certainly was an experience I could've done without. My aunt picked us up and brought us home. I had a good ten minutes of being slightly nervous until I settled to just not looking at the traffic.

So here's a very quick one:
My sister is in labour. It's going to be a boy and I'm really, really excited and keep hitting the wrong keys.
Meanwhile I'm stuck at work, because boss screwed up deadlines but is too sick to deal with it. I'm currently applying at Hogwarts. Need magic to make it work.
Other than that: Went larping (post-Apocalypse), will go larping again in August (fantasy setting), revamped the Liv Tyler site (still going), turned 34 (thanks for the wishes and, again, Gem for the vgift!) and discovered I'm allergic to penicillin.
But mostly I'm excited for my sister. :D

I missed quite a few birthdays - Cheers! - and that leaves one or two or... more icons to make. Which I have every intention to. Just need to get back into the 100x100px space, because in the last few months it were mostly bigger graphics and working on something that small feels... weird. And half of the time I don't really

Nothing excitingly new in real life. Work is getting less and less comfortable, will visit friends next weekend, a wedding next month, some Larp planned sometime this year. Had to buy a new TV, went for a bigger one which makes playing on the Xbox somewhat more fun. Fallout New Vegas mostly lately, Silent Hill Downpour (even though it freaks me out), and a bit of Aliens Colonial Marines too, which despite its many deficiencies I enjoy a lot. Mostly due to the fact that I LOVE the second Aliens movie and walking around in familiar places, hearing all those familiar sounds and tripping over Bishop's legs or finding Newt's doll head... yeah. It's nice. *g*

First and most important, I want to say a very heartfelt thank you to gemelliragazza for the card, the beautiful bandanna, the little koala (you know me *g*) and the Ned Kelly mints (my sister looked at them, didn't know who he was, so I took the opportunity to send the movie home with her). To little___hobbit for the always delicious cookies I had to guard with my life, to ladyithildiel, nuit2005, poetic_self, flummy_pumpkin (yumm!), cat_o_wen, serenitysangel (also for the icon in this entry!) and keli for the christmas cards. *hugs all around* You made me smile and my mother go 'what, another one? :D

I missed a ton of birthdays. Have a Happy Birthday to you now and icons later - already started on them and want to post them within the next few days, along with calendar brushes. It's tradition, after all. ;)
So, short one on my life: Uneventful, same old, same old. Saw The Hobbit, enjoyed it, probably need to see it a second time. Made a ton of graphics I'll post eventually, whether you want it or not. ;D Am watching Pityu getting old, spent time with my family, played Skyrim, will try to catch up with everyone on here during the next few days.
And I've assembled quite a few photoshoot pics. With LJ being slow for me right now I hope this goes through. ;D

That subject line sounds way more melancholy than I'm feeling. I just liked it. *g* Anyway...

I'm updating from work. Before September is over.
Bike is still in my possession. I customized it - click. Now it's only attractive to fans of the game.
I dare you.
Work is a soap opera, but gladly I'm just watching and not involved. I'm honestly thinking of bringing popcorn with me.
Was away for a weekend to visit friends, was awesome, but way too short. I miss Larp, but won't be able to attend one until next year, I guess.
Oh, and as I'm keeping my bike in the cellar now (I live in an apartment building, fyi) I had this little moment last week, when I was down there. In one of the rooms there was a mask. Big face, yellow hair, borderline creepy. It just hung there in the corner for no apparent reason. Curious as I was I took a step towards it and then thought: 'Nope. You've seen way too many horror movies to fall for that.' I turned and left. I didn't want to be that guy you usually scream at to not be that stupid and DO NOT LOOK. RUN!
There, my life is exciting.
