oo5. rain. (original) (raw)
Title: Rain.
Author: zrisj
Rating: G
Pairing: Joe/OC, non-romantic.
Type: Drabble.
Summary: On Fridays, Joe would take the time to stop and sit down to remember and think about a girl that he once knew.
AN: Written with prompt #26 on jonas_drabbles which is 'days go by'. Purely wordspill. The idea of the girl used in a story is a child but could be very much thought of as a girl Joe's age.
Rainy Fridays always had a way to get to Joe. On that day of the week, he’d take the time sit down at the back, away from everybody else, and just think about her. He’d feel a little bit sadder than usual when it rained. He’d remember all the gloom in her eyes whenever the sudden downpour of water hit her window. She’d tell him the she won’t be able to go outside with him now, because her mom hated the rain and now she’d never be allowed. Any other day would’ve been fine, she wouldn’t care. But Fridays were different, it was her favorite day.
Days would go by until it was Friday again and it won’t be raining. He’d remember how all the lights lit up her eyes that how soon enough he’d have the same kind of joy in his.
Joe hated the rain because she did. He never bothered appreciating the calming sound the water and the pavement did when they collided together. Never bothered to breathe in the wet scent that it left off after. He hated the rain because it made her sad. When it rained on Fridays, he didn’t have to think twice in wondering if she’s up and happy or down and sad. He always knew. He just wishes he could fix.
