Welcome to the NEWLY REFRESHED Paire Challenge!

At one time this community was dedicated to 100 word drabbles only, but some things have changed. This community is now dedicated to bi-weekly fanfiction challenges for the pairing of Peter Petrelli and Claire Bennet of hit NBC Series, Heroes. Now it is formatted just like heroes_contest, a contest to challenge people with weekly themes, and award the best fics according to popular vote. This particulaly contest, however, only centers around Peter and Claire!

As far as the schedule goes, the drabble and oneshot themes will alternate every two weeks. You will get a theme for drabble that will go on for two weeks, and then alternate with a theme for oneshots the next two weeks. There will never be more than one theme going on during those two weeks. It gives busy people more opportunities to participate.

Drabbles: 100 to 500 words
Oneshots: 500 word count or higher

And the fun part about this is that the winners to the bi-weekly themes get pretty banners to display on their journal, website, or whatever for their hard work.

Here are the rules:

  1. For every two weeks, drabbles should be 100 to 500 words and oneshots should be 500 words or more. THERE IS ONE ENTRY PER PERSON. The entry should be new and original for each challenge.

  2. Everything must be LJ-cut! No exceptions! Please don't clutter up people's F-lists. If you do not know how to do an LJ-cut, please see the LJ cut mechanics at the FAQs.

  3. The pairing MUST be Peter and Claire. Whether they are romantic or plantonic, all fics must only focus on them. Implied pairings are welcome, but the pairing must FOCUS on Peter/Claire. All genres and ratings are welcome! If you have adult content in your drabble or one-shot, please use a warning in your format when posting.

  4. All pimpings of other Heroes related communities or events on LJ, DeviantART, and any other website is not permissible unless you ask permission of the mod. PLEASE DO NOT advertise any other non-theme related fanfiction here. Let's keep everything pertaining to the themes. If you want to advertise your Heroes fic from outside the community, please do it at heroes_fic or mature_heroes instead.

  5. Posts with graphic sex (R and NC-17 rated) and incest should be f-locked. I will remind you if it's not.

  6. Constructive Criticism: Comments are STRONGLY encouraged on the drabbles. We're all here to practice our writing and feedback helps in a big way. Constructive criticism is acceptable but do not engage in pointless snark. And don't be surprised if someone gives you friendly concrit about grammar, mechanics and even characterizations. It's probably a good idea to watch out for those things in your entries because some of your fellow writers could have things to say about that. Be courteous as well as helpful!

  7. Banners will be given out to the winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd placement, as well as Mod Choice if we have enough entries. Banners will be created by the mods or any banner maker volunteers.

  8. Format your entries as such:

In the Subject line, please put the particular theme and title of your fic. (You do not have to strictly adhere to this format, but please attempt to have something recognizable and similar to it.)

Title:
Rating: all ratings accepted
Genre: all genres included
Pairings: Peter/Claire, though warn us if there's another pairing that's implied or alluded to
Warnings: SPOILERS, adult content, fluff, anything you think may squick others
Summary: Help us out and tell us a little about it.

  1. Voting - There is NO voting for yourself, and using multiple accounts and getting your friends/sockpuppets vote so you win will warrant warnings and banning from the community.
    ONLY MEMBERS AND WATCHERS CAN VOTE.

  2. Themes start Mondays of every week (unless otherwise noted). All entries are due Fridays at midnight and voting polls go up Saturdays. Voting will end Tuesday nights and winners announced Wednesdays. Banners will be posted the same week the winners are announced.

  3. I shouldn't have to remind people of this, but PLEASE let's all act mature and not engage in any drama. Do not harrass, flame, or start a fight with others. If you have a problem with someone, come to me. Otherwise, general asshatery will get you banned. We can have fun and give people constructive criticism without being nasty.
