Therefore, companies try to survive in a competitive environment by making their operational decisions strategically and systematically. Selection problems play an important role among these decisions. In the literature there are many robust MCDM (Multi Criteria Decision Making) methods that consider the conflicting selection criteria and alternatives. In this paper the consulting firm selection problem is solved with UTA (UTility Additive) method which is one of the MCDM methods. This method considers preference of the decision makers on alternatives and uses linear programming model to obtain a utility function having a minimum deviation from the preferences. In order to illustrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the method, a real case study is presented.

Keeping track of employees' time and attendance is difficult and time-consuming task for the comp... more Keeping track of employees' time and attendance is difficult and time-consuming task for the companies. Today many companies are performing the digital time and attendance systems that automatically track and process the data to improve their operations and save money. There are many alternatives for the time and attendance systems in the market and appropriate selection among them is not easy in the presence of multiple, usually conflicting, criteria. So this selection may be considered as a Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem. In this paper, the new combined decision making approach based on Criteria Importance Through Inter criteria Correlation (CRITIC) and Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WAS-PAS) methods is used for the time and attendance software selection problem of the private hospital. The weights of the criteria are determined by CRITIC method and the alternatives are ranked by WASPAS method for finding the most suitable alternative. The novelty of this paper to the literature is to combine CRITIC and WAS-PAS methods for the first time.

Selecting the appropriate air compressor is an important decision for the company as it affects the energy consumption and operating cost. To aid the decision making process in the companies, MCDM methods are proposed in the literature. In all MCDM methods, the main goal is to select the best alternative or to rank a set of given alternatives. In this paper, the air compressor is selected for a spinning mill of a textile company with an integrated approach based on MACBETH (Measuring Attractiveness by a Categorical Based Evaluation TecHnique) and COPRAS (COmplex PRoportional ASsessment) methods. MACBETH method is utilized to determine the weights of the criteria. Then COPRAS method is used to determine the ranking of the alternatives and select the best one.

However, the selection of proper TPL provider is not an easy task because of conflicting quantitative and qualitative criteria. This study presents an integrated model based on three well-known methods Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL), Analytical Network Process (ANP) and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) for the evaluation and selection of TPL providers. DEMATEL computes the effects between selection criteria while ANP derives the weights of each criterion related with TPL providers' selection problem. Finally DEA presents a mathematical model for ranking TPL providers alternatives with respect to various criteria. The application of integrated model is demonstrated with a case study. The novelty of this study comes from the fact that there is no research in the literature integrating DEMA...

One of the ways to overcome this difficulty is hiring a web design firm. There are many web design firms in the market and it is critical to determine which one best meets a company’s needs. In this paper one of the MCDM (Multi Criteria Decision Making) techniques, called ORESTE (Organization, Rangement Et Synthese De Donnes Relationnelles), has been applied to the selection of web design firm. This method is simple and does not require the quantification of criteria weights and alternatives, rather only their ordinal rankings. The application has demonstrated that the ORESTE method provides a structured, rational and consistent approach to complex decision problems.

The use of integer variables greatly expands the scope of useful optimization problems. The purpose of this paper is to propose a concise formulation of the production planning problem oriented at the food industry and in particular to wine production. The main idea is the selection of new products to be produced and the determination of the quantity of them in order to maximize profit of a winery. This is a fixed-charge problem and in this paper branch and bound method is used to solve the problem. The results obtained from a MIP model indicate that the selection of new products can favorably produce optimal schedules.

The results obtained from a MIP model indicate that the selection of new products can favorably produce optimal schedules.

In this study, it is used the method which can model the fuzzy structure of the real world and which operates with the decision maker interactively, which aims at obtaining the best solution by continuing this interactiveness in the solution process, which includes fuzziness with more realistic approach to the system. It is showed that the importance of fuzziness concept for IFLP problems, how it is applied on real-world problems and its effects.
