DDC Reloaded Under new management! Please see the post directly above this one! deities_dot_com:It’s been brought to the attention of the moderators of deities_dot_com that the community’s current structure is ill conceived for a growing roleplay community. We agree wholeheartedly. It worked for an interim period while the community was changing from being a largely player-moderated environment to a more structured RP community. However, the way that DDC is currently run is simply no longer working. This has been made very clear.In order to rectify the ambiguity and confusion that the intermediate system has created, we are wholly outlining a more structured roleplay, appropriate for larger communities under moderators.One of the changes will be in the moderators themselves. As was suggested by a current player some weeks ago, we are adding a new member to the moderator team. Additionally, DDC will no longer have a Head Mod and Second Mod - all three are Co-Mods. Decisions are made together, posts are made together, and all maintenance is done together. Our new Co-Mod is highly experienced in RP, but newer to DDC. His experience along with his different point of view have already generated a stronger, more rounded perspective for the DDC Mod team, and will continue to do so. Another change is a venue switch. deities_dot_com and pantheon_dot_co will both be moving to GreatestJournal, effective today. The benefits of GJ strongly outweigh LJ for character journals. You will have space for up to 2,000 icons, as well as 1 GB free photo hosting in each journal's Photo Gallery. Icons appear as you select them in your replies, so there's no need for you to open your icon page to pick your icons. In addition you also receive the ability to be messaged from your userinfo page to your cell phone, if you want this feature. Bottom line, it’s like an upgrade to a paid account for all your character journals, but it's all for free. pantheon_dot_co can be found here, and deities_dot_com can be found here. We've also added a History Community for DDC here, for all non modern-day RP and any character history you would like to share with your fellow players for game canon. The  deities_mod journal can be found here.The rules have also been completely re-vamped and can now be found here. Some points are the same and some are different, but all rules now create a sustainable structure for a larger community. Part of the restructuring will include reapplication for any character that will continue to play in DDC. This application is pared down from the regular application for new players, and will be available for use within the next seven days. Details for entrance to GJ-DDC can be found here. Please do not use the regular application for new players, as it contains additional steps for you that are simply unnecessary. All current characters are encouraged to join. To ease the transition, RP in DDC-GJ will not begin until March 7th and no new players will be allowed to apply until after this date. This time will afford the senior LJ players the opportunity to review the new structure, take stock of the changes, decide if they would like to continue at DDC, and select the characters they would like to take to GJ. Because the game is changing, we want to offer everyone switching to GJ the opportunity to re-work your characters as well. Please keep in mind that the game canon built here in LJ will continue to be valid. However, if you feel your character needs a change, you have the opportunity to update the face, personality, or anything else you can think of, as long as it does not alter the previously played game canon. All previous DDC-LJ posts are in the process of being summarized, to make the switch-over as seamless as possible. Additionally, moderators will post bi-weekly summaries for GJ roleplay to PDC - this means that players will no longer have to do it. Moderators will also be responsible for tagging each post in DDC so that the tag list remains current and complete.As of the time of this post, deities_dot_com will be closed. I went to post for this character and noticed I was removed from the roleplay community. I assume this is because of the new rule about having 2 weeks to post. I apologize for the postponedness of the post. But in light of the recent circumstances, I hope the minortardiness can be overlooked, and the character re-entered into the community. | |

If those that moderate this place do not mind, I know a rather quaint little place designed expressly for the purpose of letting those that wish to goto the happy naked bouncy time together. sex! Sex! SEX! Okaaaaayyy...So we're all adults, near as we can figure. So we all are legally entitled to read/write whateverwhatever. So we all play gods, freaky as they come (oh, no pun intended--wait. I can't lie.).But uh.Yeaaah.In the past, a few of you have been all, "What's allowed?" and all that. The standard answer is, basically, fade to black posts are fine, or redirected posts are fine, but sex in the community, unless tasteful (vague, huh?), is frowned on. So what'd we do? Pussy-footed (oh god, the PUNS, THE PUNS!) around it until we were all so confused that we didn't even know anymore WHAT to think.I guarantee you that some players (oh yes, plural!) here are NOT comfortable with the recent sex posts. Hey, fine, all right, to each their own. Live and let live and all that. But there's also the matter of respect.You've gotta think about the people who also read DDC at work, on work computers, and haven't got any idea what the comments're gonna say until it's right there, on the screen, for any work techie to tattle about.And there's also the matter of weird legislature these days. I am NOT taking the fall for you guys, in the 1 in a billion chance that some senator gets a letter from a minor's upset parents about this comm (like that'd happen).Here's the official word, yo.1) If you're gonna do it, use protection!IE: If your post turns into sex, we're going to leave it to the person who started the thread to edit the first post to have a header: "Warning. Adult content." You have between two hours (during business hours) and twelve hours (during everything else) from the first comment that starts teh sex0rs to edit and add the header, else the post will be deleted altogether from the community.2) If you're gonna cum, warn a girl first!IE: Your DDC mods are proud to present to you...dun da da dun!...a new tag... **pr0n!**Know it. Use it. Love it. Or else!Now. With all that said, DDC is not a sex community. If your storyline (yes, plot, here, key word, PLOT) involves a little freakynastyfreaking, go for it. But I'm swearin' to ya now, if everyone starts posting pr0n! as the main event here instead of story-related RP, thy mighty mods shall lift up their hands on high and strike down thy virility, and yea verily, Sex, thou shalt be no more! Goodbye There seems to be no proper way of starting this, so let me just say that I'm withdrawing characters. I'm withdrawing them partly because I've felt lost in the community, wondering how to move them, use them, tell their story or even just a story. I've lost inspiration.There are others who might have something to say with these chars, which won't be what I'd say, but as much as they're a part of me and I love them dearly, I don't feel right simply holding on and hoping that somehow, something will be just the right spark that will make things fit. This was originally just to be a short visit anyway in the case of my favourite; Hebe.hebe_dot_com, her and Herc's children gnosi_paides, the first characters I'd ever had on LJ erinyes_dot_com and dike_dot_com.I'm going to miss the positive interactions I've had here with them. But maybe the stories I want to tell with them can't be told this way. Who knows, maybe they need a web-comic or straight fiction.I didn't plan to leave the same time as Herc, it's just the leaving made me face something I've been pondering for a while now.I hope those of you staying continue to have fun with the gods. |

Let us not unman each other; part at once; all farewells should be sudden, when forever. I'm sad to announce that I'm leaving Deities. Real life (specifically the simultaneous renovations of two houses) is eating up all my free time to the point I'm not even able to follow what's going on, let alone participate.I'm sad to go, and will be holding on to the Hercules_dotcom LJ in the hope I can play him again somewhere at some point in the future.It's been fun, and I'm glad I had the chance to play with many of you.-Hercules_“Don't cry because it's over. Face Changes - Rule #6 _Six. Duplication of gods/goddesses/faces is not allowed. You may review our up-to-date list of all taken gods and goddesses, along with the name of their face here. Additionally, in order to reduce confusion, once you have decided on a face for your god or goddess, it may not be changed.** For extreme circumstances, please contact us via the e-mail listed above or via a post on the OOC forum addressed to deities_mod._Hey friends,As you all know, face changes for characters is not permitted in DDC in most circumstances, for three reasons:1)Character creation is a deliberate, careful process. The player considers the personality as well as the mythology of the character during the process, and we leave it to the player to choose an appropriate face for the character to use in DDC. It is the player's responsibility, once they have 'gotten to know' their character, to stay true to their decision, keep their character's face constant, and play, play, play!2)The face of a character is a part of the character's identity, and, just like personality or canon history or even the voice of the character, players should be able to reasonably expect those things to be constant.3)After consideration, we DDC moderators have decided to run the game with consistent faces for each character.With all that said, there are usually always exceptions to the rules for extenuating circumstances, including Rule #6. And, as always, we would be happy to talk to any player having difficulty. You can email us at deities@gmail.com, you can leave a message on Pantheon to ask for a discussion with one of us (usually me), or you can straight out message me (AIM: Nephthys Dot Com //YIM: Rayne_Kenyon) for a talk, if I'm online. Today, The Fates posted a great little RP where a life-changing event took place with Atropos and Lachesis. As a result, HEY! The face of Atropos has been changed to align more reasonably with the result of the roleplay. The player of the Fates spoke at length with me regarding this change, and after listening to her explanation, her new face for Atropos has been approved. The face for Lachesis has already been altered once for similar reasons, and will be remaining as previously chosen.Because this is such a great departure, I wanted to assure you all that the player definitely checked it out beforehand and that this change is definitely approved. Also, I felt it only respectful to the other players to give you a little heads up... Please take it seriously...The consequences are too dire to consider, if you don't........**ATROPOS IS A FOX!
