Parameter RPG (original) (raw)
14 November 2009 @ 01:01 am
Activity Check 3 was made for April-October, 2009 with Results. Activity Checks are now going back to their designated regular monthly schedules, as assigned in the Rules.
For the month of March, 2009. Alright, this will follow the same format as the previous Activity check post. So same drill. If you have any questions just go back to the first Activity Check. For new players basically what you are going to do for this Activity check is give three samples of activity in links, whether it be journal entries, or logs.
This activity check will date back to before the temp. shutdown of Parameter, which would be around February/March ish. So any activity from there counts as activity. So please do so down here. Copy paste and you'll be checked. Also the check will be taking place from Today Friday-Sunday Evening @ midnight. I think that's fair enough time. If you have a problem with posting by Sunday please tell me!
EDIT: I'll extend it to FRIDAY Next week, because I am certain that some of the muns must be away. Those on hiatus are Exempt from the activity check until they return. That is all.
Thanks! Tarei-mod

Although the recent situations on Gaia have been tremendously grave indeed, our heroes and common folk alike are still piecing their lives together with admirable energy. Even with the fast pace of beings on this planet, there's one day we can't forget about...
They call the day a "Bloom of the Carnations," celebrated on the 14th of February every year. How did it come about? Though the destruction proceeding Meteor looked, literally, like the end of the world, once the dust billowed away and the gray skies had cleared, February rain brought in an unexpected guest in Gaia: the first blooms since the great devastation - pearl-white carnations on that fateful 14th. They grew from meadow to meadow, appearing like angels on a colossal battlefield. They sprouted on abandoned roads, rose from the crevices of Midgar's ruins, reached out from cracks underneath broken asphalt, leaned out over shallow graves, as if in commemoration of loved ones before and after. Shopkeepers are setting up their displays and prepping their stores to sell sweets and chocolate treats this weekend. There will be stuffed moogles and chocobo toys, cards and rings, and even, of course, our favorite little flower. It's a celebration for all loved ones - lovers, friends, parents, children, grandchildren.
So keep in mind your loved ones this year, and be always, always mindful.
Which is another way of saying that Valentine's Day has been one-upped once again.

Alright, it's not that big, but it does affect everyone as well as the subsequent way this game will be played. Remember that poll you guys took about the IC time versus OOC time? The votes are now final - no flaming, this is the way democracy runs, but you're more than welcome to give us explanations on what you agree or don't agree about the way the new system is going to work. Actually, we encourage it. We'd like to hear your opinions, and this is the way to do it if you have a logical, considerable point. So enough talk. here it is.
2 day IC : 1 week OOC (Mon-Thurs, Weekend)
- Edited to take into account logical, considerable point made (Eli)
That means that 1 week in our time is going to be the equivalent of 2 days in Parameter. I'm guessing some of you guys need a little bit of down time to catch up with real life, and that's totally fine. We mods have real lives too.
In other news. Activity check. We're still missing one from Shikyou, aka Nero the Sable. Please reply or clear things up if we've made a mistake.
In extra other news. I don't know if you guys have noticed, but there's a link now on the comm's profiles for Parameter's official FST, hosted by Take, languidly, our Zack player. Check it out if you haven't, it's pretty cool. Or just nod sagely at it for the sake of catching onto something that might have slipped your notice before.
Edit: Ferret is compiling a CHARACTER BIRTHDAYS list. Please read her comment under this entry and respond.
Thanks all, Sem

Sorry guys. Please note:
The activity check had to be re-posted because there was a location submission mistake. Just for clarification, official game posts (such as all-player plots, activity checks, and any important/urgent announcements to players will be made on the RPG comm, while personal mod announcements or messages will be made on the OOC).
The following characters have already been accounted for and do not need to submit an activity check: Jenova, Reeve, Scarlet, Yuffie, Tifa, Kira, Hojo, Sephiroth, Cloud, Kunsel, Shera, Shelke, Angeal, Rod, Veld, Rufus, Elfe, Yazoo, Zack, Cid, Weiss, Lucrecia, Genesis, Vincent, Aerith, Reno. If I missed anyone, let me know.
Sem
Alright, it is time for the Activity Check for the month of January 2009!
As Sem reminded, and as it states in our rules we are looking for a minimum of three proofs of activity, so copy-pasta this bad boy into a comment and show us your moves:
More than one character? You just need to repeat and post in one comment! If you are currently on hiatus, you will need to complete on your return, but in the meantime the mods will check requirements have been met.

The earthquake that shook the Planet is over but what now? There is damange in every city, some worse than others. Places closer to the epicenter in the Northern Caverns were hit the worst, along with the coastal towns.
→ Costal Del Sol
The coastal town has been wiped out causing many deaths and sending refugees to other towns, creating a strain on resources.→ Junon Bay
The area around the bay is mostly destroyed and the ships that were once in the harbor or close to it are now wreaks. What's left of the part of the city near the bay has either fallen into the bay or is in danger of doing so.
So what does this mean for the rest of the Planet?
There are refugees from Junon and Costa Del Sol who are now homeless and the economy is once more in recession. Kalm now is the center of steady trade while rebuilding. Reconstruction in Edge is set back further by the damage to the earthquake as well.

For the past few weeks, the eerie phenomenon of the dead coming alive is slowly becoming apparent to more and more people. It seems, however, that not everyone remembers events to the same extent, and that may be a mysterious result of the intake of lifestream upon escaping.
What? Tell me! Tell me more!
These green ebbings undulate in the sky no longer - as they have slowly been absorbed into one location: the Northern Caverns. Yes, not the Northern Crater, but the Northern Caverns (which, as had been seen through circulations of photos provided by an anonymous author, was formed literally overnight). Neon green auras dazzle the sky above this landmark, and during these nights, the skies above all other towns and cities are clear and beautifully star-studded indeed. No mako-colored obstructions for our lovers of romance and nature. The sky is all yours to gape at in awe.
Beware, however, as the peace is tentative, and short at best. The citizens will enjoy these beautiful nights until the end of the weekend. We won't tell you why it's happening exactly - as you'll have to see yourself. Let's just say that someone, or something, is breaking out. And other things are breaking in. On January 12, 2009, the crystalline peaks of the Northern Caverns will shatter, leaving a gaping hole much like the crater of before. The explosion will reverberate around the world in a devastating earthquake, destroying towns, buildings, homes. The closer you are to the epicenter, the worse off your situation. Ocean tides will come crashing high above continental shores, flooding coastal towns like Costa Del Sol, Junon.
The total consequences will be announced later. For now, we're barely worrying about our own lives. The animals can feel the impending doom. Birds are flying, mice migrate in masses. Every creature on Gaia is uneasy - except for the humans. Enjoy the peace while you can. ♥ Sem

[_Static opens the broadcast, white noise strongly disrupting the transmission for a few moments, until finally it settles. Laughter can be heard replacing the noise as it clears, until it, too, eventually dies down._]
How long has it been? How much has the world changed in my absence?
The wait is now over. I've given you years to catch up, improve... I hope you've used them wisely. [_More brief laughter filters through._] Now is the time to see just how much you've learned.
Consider it a test, my friends, to apply your new skills, test your new boundaries, throw away your fear.
It is I against you, and I'd hate to be disappointed. I'm not ready for you all to die.
Yet.
You're already off to a bad start, so allow me to enlighten you. You might want to improve your security.
[_There is a voice in the background of a man sputtering, pleading, before a gunshot brings it to a halt. The laughter starts again, feeding through for a few brief moments before the transmission cuts off._]
(( OOC: Weiss is in Junon and has hacked into a communication tower. The above message was transmitted to everyone, so. Enjoy. ))

So on yesterday's update we told you of a mysterious benefactor of information and an apparent hoax concerning the Northern Crater. In other news the living at Wutai were reporting the rise of their dead. Rather ghoulish, all in all.
So again what of the living dead and did you hear of a possible assassination event?
A Flower Girl of Ancient heritage will rise at The Temple of the Ancients. Her last memories will be of the loneliness in solitude and the quiet desperation of a fight's end, as she heads through the Sleeping Forest to the Forgotten Capital.
The raven-haired First Class finds himself back home, in Gongaga. His memories will be full; absolutely complete. In fact, his mind will be able to recall quite remarkably events from whence he was languishing within the Lifestream; the last recall mere minutes before his re-arrival back home.
A former AVALANCHE leader will wake up at her father's doorstep in Kalm. All meaning of memory will be retained for her, right up until she left for the lifestream. There is however, no recollection of anything past her own death.
The Silver Haired remnants will find themselves in the wilderness of the Northern Crater. The area is still as bleak as ever, but for those enigmatic formations so easily dismissed as rumour by the academics and authorities of Gaia. They will be together but will remember nothing. All they do know is that they want Mother, and crave to fulfill her every wish.
The mystery of one Big Brother is soon to be unraveled with their location. The emerald eyed Silver General recalls only his living moments, and is trapped. But how long will it be before his will escapes?
The Tsviet sibling regains consciousness in the heart of the Canyon Lands. His revived form was carried there by the Cosmo Canyon protector, Nanaki who reveals to him nothing of where he was found. He can remember events leading up to and also after death. However the haze of malformed memory recall descends roughly about the same time the planet was saved from Omega by one Vincent Valentine.
In other news, Commissioner Tuesti has spoken out to quell the rumours regarding an assassination attempt on his life. It was likely just a random act of vandalism, a mere rock thrown through his windows. He does however add that, upon due advice, security around the WRO HQ and his own apartment has been tightened.
And finally, there have been sightings of a striking figure of a man, clad in red leather. His trajectory, going on the reports, suggests he is heading North.
Want to discuss these plots? Have a question about your own character? Let's talk here. Countdown has been completed. Tomorrow we start the game! ♥ Eli
