How wonderful - I was 6 when my parents got a job at the British Consul, about February 1979 I believe (we JUST made it out of Iran in January). These are beautiful! :)

I used to work as a guide onboard the Chinese junks Four Winds that departed from Clifford Pier around 1977 to 1979. Does anyone have photos onboard or of the junks themselves in their collection/archive ???? It would mean alot to me as I am trying to piece my life's puzzle together. Thank you.

Gunnar. Thank you for sharing the pictures.I lived in Singapore from 1977 to 1980 and loved every second of it.For me Singapore is the most beautiful place i ever have been.

Hullo!! Your pictures of Singapore are really interesting!! I was born in 1979 and these pics really brought back memories of my childhood. Nostalgic! Things have really changed now and Singapore is hardly what it used to be like 26 years ago! Thanks for sharing and do let me know if you manage to dig up more past Singapore photos!
