Fall Go Organizing Hello. everyone. Dawn's at PSU now, and I understand she's working on organizing the players there as well as participating in planning for the 2008 Go Congress in Portland. (w00t!)

I'm still at PCC, re-organizing, or trying to organize newly, Go clubs at PCC Sylvania and Cascade. Because these are two year colleges, the faces constantly change. We need 12 currently registered students at Sylvania and 8 at Cascade. I think the odds are good!

I'm also organizing a new gathering one Sunday afternoon a month at the Hollywood Library a few blocks north of the Hollywood Transit Center. "East Side Go" for the moment, aimed at beginners and advanced beginners. Our second meeting will be SUNDAY OCTOBER 7th, 1:00 to 4:30 PM. Please help get the word out, and please feel free to come! It's aimed at beginners/advanced beginners, but of course everyone is welcome!

I'd like to get *everyone* on the KGS go server, in addition to live play in the cafeteria at Sylvania, the Club Room at Cascade, and the Library meeting room. That way we can freely ignore schedule conflicts and play any time, 24/7.

STATUS REPORT, PCC SYLVANIA:
3 continuing students known at this time, plus two people said they want to join! Club day tables/signups a week from Tuesday; Anime and Go Club tables will be side by side because of our crossover membership. Go Club has Go stones but no boards; we'll have a budget and can get boards once we're re-established. (But I have boards in the meantime.) We have a new adviser: the new History instructor, Chris, is an advanced Go player!

STATUS REPORT, PCC CASCADE:
No adviser or members yet; know anyone at that campus? Club fair all next week! I'll set up tables and spend as much time as I can there. Potential budget: $150 for new startups!

STATUS REPORT, HOLLYWOOD LIBRARY:
Four players came to the first meeting in September. Our core member is planning to organize a club at Benson High but will be back, and he brought his brother and another friend who loved her first games. Two additional people dropped in to take a look but didn't have time to stay, saying they might join us next time. If I can find the time myself, I would like to connect with someone at the local schools to invite teachers and students; there's a school nearby but I don't even know which one it is yet...

Any help you can give in connecting new people with these venues will be greatly appreciated!
