Commonly used converters for high and medium electric drives for renewable energy applications ar... more Commonly used converters for high and medium electric drives for renewable energy applications are multilevel inverters because these converters operate at the low switching frequency that automatically minimizes the losses occurring in switching period. But, lower switching frequency is liable to produce lower order harmonics which increases line current distortion. The conventional converters have more harmonics than multilevel inverters (MLIs) at the output. The percentage of harmonics decrease when number of levels increase in the output. This paper represents a hybrid MLI, which has 21-level output with less distortion in the voltage. The main focus of this paper is to produce more levels in the output voltage and then eliminate lower order harmonics by some appropriate modulation technique. Selective Harmonics Elimination (SHE) modulation technique is implemented for that purpose. Inverter is modeled and simulated in the MATLAB/SIMULINK software. The obtained simulation results are verified using a hardware prototype for the authenticity of the proposed model.

It plays a vital role in various manufacturing processes around the world for melting different types of metal scraps i. e. Copper, Cast Iron, Aluminium, Steel, Brass, Bronze, Silicon, Gold, Silver etc. which are further used in many other industrial applications. The induction furnace causes a huge disturbance to the utility and nearby consumers during its operation due to its non-linear characteristics. This is a serious phenomenon responsible for power quality degradation in the power system. This paper presents methodology to improve the power quality degradation caused by induction furnace using Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) which is a type of custom power device. The real time data has been taken from an industry employing induction furnace for production of ingots from scrap material. The experimental readings are measured using ...

So for Efficient & Reliable use of transformer at a reasonable cost, proper specification & designing of 'Distribution transformer' should be done. This paper describes the various techniques for the proper designing of distribution transformer. Study has been done mainly on number of turns & core diameter, choice of current densities, winding dimensions etc.

Industry-wide Bluetooth promises very substantial benefits for wireless network operators, end workers, and content developers of exciting new applications. This article delves into the implementation and architecture of Bluetooth. It also describes the functional overview and applications of Bluetooth, and deals with the development of a model for recording, printing, monitoring, and controlling of eight process variables at the same time, using a distributed control system. We explain industrial automation via Bluetooth using IISS. Industrial automation is one of the major applications of Bluetooth technology. Industrial automation, in terms of controlling or monitoring a factory, office, or industrial process, means to install machines that can do the work instead of human workers. Industrial plants consists of many devices interconnected in different ways ranging from simple data collection units (I/O) to more intelligent devices such as sensors, one-loop controllers, or programmable controllers, and a supervisory system used as a human-machine interface (HMI) for data logging and supervisory control. An IISS is a controlling device that monitors the devices in a company. It basically communicates via the interface card in the PC; the hardware is connected parallel across the device, and it is interfaced with the PC via a transceiver. The device can be accessed both manually via the switches and remotely via the PC. we will show how the remote monitoring takes place between the control room and the PC. These details in the article establish the growing need for Bluetooth technology.
