12:28 pm | Good News For My Film, "The Key"! Alright, if you have been reading my blog or bulletins at all, you'll know that I've constantly been dropping hints about "The Key" being a part of something that I would consider big. Well, I can finally reveal that information!"The Key", my short horror film which you can find on the Short Pictures Independent MySpace page, is going to be featured in an art show in downtown Indianapolis! I'm fucking pumped! The show is called Oranje and they feature paintings, live music, fashion shows, and, of course, film! They are truly an art show for the senses. Information can be found right here...I hope that some of you will try to make it and support S.P.I. and my film! It'll be good times for all, I swear! I went last year and had a blast.Basically, get your ass to Indy and represent!Alright, that is all for now!-Ronald Current Mood: accomplished (5 Comments |Comment on this) |

8:42 pm | HEY! I NEED YOU, MAN! Alright guys, I've been searching my mind all summer for a good story to turn into a full length film. At the beginning of the summer and up to recently, I was working on a film called "Cinephilia in Indiana" which was a movie about, basically, love and movies and loving movies. Getting into that script, I found that I was limiting myself on some of the plot points I wanted to include because of my ability to pull it off. I would still love to do that movie at some point, but I don't think I'm at that point in my life at this time. So, after craving for an idea that would be easy to do, would include a storyline that I could hold dearly to my heart, that would cost little-to-no money, and that would come to me based off experiences in my life, I've come up with "The Station" (tentative title) which is a story about a group of friends working at a college radio station. I want it to feel like High Fidelity, Empire Records, Clerks, and Dazed and Confused. I want to have this base storyline of love, but with various funny side stories going on. I hope to mix drama and comedy fluidly to not only make you laugh, but to make you feel for these characters.NOW, this is where you, the reader, come in. If you have ever worked with me at WISU or have worked at any other radio station and have either a really funny or sad story to tell about working there, please send them to me! Either in a comment or in a message. HELL, even if you've never worked at a station and have a funny story about your job that would work in a radio station setting, tell it to me!I'm already about 15 (I think) pages in, but I don't have all the kinks worked out in my head. So, I encourage you all to send me a story you'd like to see in a movie! I might not use them all, but who knows. Maybe I will.SO, LEAVE ME A COMMENT PLEASE!!!! 1:29 pm | It's a bird... Yesterday, Collin and I ran to a place I haven't been to in months. A place that I have wanted to visit for some time now to get back into something that I have fallen out of. The surroundings, the smells, the environment just feel like home. We went to Downtown Comics on 10th street. There, I had to use self control in order not to buy all the comics I have fallen behind on. The Ultimate X-men and Spider-Man graphic novels, newer novels I haven't had the chance to read yet (V For Vendetta, Y The Last Man, Preacher), and Batman books I wanted to read because Batman Begins was soo damn good. Then, I came across a book that I couldn't pass up. "It's a Bird..." is the auto-biographical story of Steven T. Seagle and his experiences in writing Superman and the ties he has with the character and family experiences. This story is excellent and brings a new light to Superman that I have never seen. It actually allows me to respect the character in some light and how he just represents what everyone needs: A hero. I think if you are a fan of true to life stories and/or comic books, that you should pick this up. Not to mention the paintings of Teddy Kristiansen (Sandman) are what brings the true magic to the story. Everything about this book makes me happy. Pick it up! DO IT!Not to mention the main character looks like Alex Mattingly in a way. I think I'll adapt this into a movie someday (hopefully).SEE MY ICON FOR A TASTE OF THE GOODNESSCurrent Mood: impressed (Comment on this) |

10:36 pm | Check them trailers! These are two movies I am highly anticipating:First, Aristocrats:http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/the_aristocrats.htmlA documentary about a cruel joke interpreted different ways by different comedians.Second, The Corpse Bride:http://playlist.yahoo.com/makeplaylist.dll?id=1367919&sdm=web&qtw=480&qth=300I feel that Tim Burton is a gothic genius, and though all the emo and goth kids live by his movies, I still find them to be really engrossing and amazing. This is claymation, much like his Nightmare Before Christmas and this looks just as fun! I think Johnny Depp (who plays the main guy) should have played Jack Skellington, but that's me.ENJOY!UPDATE-----Also, if you haven't seen Mind of Mencia or Stella on Comedy Central, you're really missing out. They're hilarious! Current Mood: amused (1 Comment |Comment on this) |

10:44 am | Now tell me...what will happen to us? Our new Pope kinda looks like... ...or more so.... I mean, look at the black around his eyes. Now, cloning will become legal and we will make a grand army of the Republic. I am sorta Catholic, so this isn't meant as a diss to the Pope. It's just more of an observation. 2:10 pm | Quick update. Been forever. Today is Ami and I's 2 year anniversarry. I love her so much! She got me some great gifts too! Tonight I start my first real radio shift. Listen if you can anytime from 6:00PM to 10:00PM @ www.wisu.org .The Guitar Man is coming great (sorry I haven't sent you the script yet Tracy) and I am really proud of what I am getting. I hope it will be a as good as I dream it to be.Alex, an AD for your online mag on the radio would be 10 bucks for 15 30 second radio spots. Sorry it's so late.Speaking of movies, Chad Sinclair wrote me a really heartfilled letter wanting to work with me on movies. He wants to write or co-write a script that I will make. I need to write him back soon.Tonight after work and I will begin editing The Guitar Man and will hopefully have a teaser trailer done by Wednesday. Here's to hoping.Well, that is all for now. 12:15 pm | ATTN ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT FANS (esp. Alex)!!!! I was reading more on the cacellation and I came across this on www.CHUD.com:Subject: RE: Arrested Development From: “Gail Berman” Date: Thu, February 10, 2005 2:30 pm To: [redacted] _Dear Arrested Development Fans:Thank you for your e-mail and your passionate support of Arrested Development. While the show has finished production for its second season, contrary to the rumors you may have heard or read on the internet, it is NOT cancelled. We at FOX love Arrested Development and we look forward to having the Bluth family back on FOX in the future - hopefully for many years. You can help make the show a bigger success by getting as many people as possible to start watching the show this Sunday and every Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT. Sincerely,Fox Broadcasting Company_I hope this is true and that we have nothing to worry about. I mean, to cancel it for that blatant Family Guy remake? American Dad was funny, but not Arrested Development funny. Lets cross out fingers. Current Mood: hopeful (2 Comments |Comment on this) |
