El texto presenta las actuaciones de reparación de una bóveda del Siglo de Oro español, la bóveda... more El texto presenta las actuaciones de reparación de una bóveda del Siglo de Oro español, la bóveda de cañón con lunetos que cierra el Altar Mayor de la iglesia de Colegio Nuestra Señora de la Antigua de Monforte de Lemos, Lugo (España), datada hacia 1610. En primer lugar, se identifican las lesiones que presenta la bóveda, para seguidamente acreditar la ausencia de movimientos de ésta. A continuación, se indaga sobre las posibles causas que pudieron haber dado lugar a las lesiones. Finalmente se exponen los criterios de intervención y se justifica el sistema de reparación empleado, que incluye un mecanismo de control de la deformación sobre la obra terminada. Se cierra el texto con un repaso a las vicisitudes de la obra.

Deployable structures are an ideal solution for emergency buildings because of their lightness an... more Deployable structures are an ideal solution for emergency buildings because of their lightness and compactness, allowing them to be transported to wherever they are needed. Generally the most frequent solutions use Scissorlike-Elements (SLE), but in this case the use of bundle modules is proposed. These systems were developed by Pérez Piñero, but have hardly been used since then. The article analyses the problems they present, as well as their advantages in reducing the number of bars and linkages required, which allows for the design of simpler and more economical structures. The geometrical and mechanical conditions of the linkages for triangular and square modules are analysed, as well as the typologies that may arise. A calculation method is also developed to analyse this type of structure. Finally, the performance of a flat grid is analysed in an analytical and experimental way using reciprocal links at its ends. Both theoretical calculations and experimental tests allow us to demonstrate the viability and efficiency of this new type of structure.

Bias deployable structural units are two-way structures arranged in a rotational pattern with res... more Bias deployable structural units are two-way structures arranged in a rotational pattern with respect to the edges. They have interesting advantages such as robust three-dimensional operation with supports around their entire base perimeter and the exclusive use of load-bearing scissor-like elements (SLEs). However, they do not have edge trims and their resistance to angular distortion is limited. This article proposes a series of deployable bi-stable structures that address these problems and incorporate new, resilient features. A method of analysing the incompatibilities of the structural unit is developed based solely on the geometric study of the deployment process, which allows the level of incompatibility of the proposal to be graduated, varying from stress-free structures to bi-stable structures. A kinematic model of one of the proposals allows the research undertaken to be contrasted.

Este baile normativo, con exigencias documentales cada vez mayores, puede llegar a crear un nuevo tipo de lesion, la �patologia documental� en la cual el edificio carece de lesiones� pero �no tiene los papeles en regla�. Esta situacion deriva en buena parte del mal funcionamiento de los sistemas de archivo, que deriva en la perdida de una documentacion previa que puede ser valiosisima. La tesis pasa revista a los diferentes metodos de validacion de las estructuras de fabricas propu... more La tesis pasa revista a los diferentes metodos de validacion de las estructuras de fabricas propuestos por diversos autores. Desarrolla la justificacion teorica del Metodo de la Seccion Eficaz como caso limite de la planificacion de una seccion de material heterorresistente sin resistencia a traccion. Seguidamente se formula el metodo de calculo basado en este criterio aplicado a una seccion rectangular sometida a carga biexcentrica, resolviendose informaticamente y reflejado sus resultados en abacos. Se realizan aplicaciones de este criterio de calculo de fabricas para las secciones de bloques huecos de hormigon y para el dimensionado de zapatas rectangulares sometidas a carga biexcentrica. Se desarrollan un analisis teorico y numerico tanto de los criterios de validacion de nudos de fabrica como de los metodos de tratamiento del pandeo recogidos por diversas normativas y referencias. The use of deployable structures in architecture began in the 1960s, based on the pioneering work... more The use of deployable structures in architecture began in the 1960s, based on the pioneering work of Emilio Pérez Piñero. It has had an interesting development using bundle or scissor modules, but with solutions that are always based on through-bolted joints. In this document, a new system for deployable space grids is proposed. This new system is based on the use of self-lockable joints, opening up a new and interesting field of design possibilities. The resulting space grids can be deployed by means of joints arranged on the bars that have a self-locking mechanism which is engaged in the final open position. This configuration overcomes the significant buckling that is characteristic of deployable structures with through-bolted joints. Different solutions are proposed for various uses, and the data from the theoretical and experimental analysis are provided.
