Ben Affleck is stepping out with old friends after Jennifer Lopez's divorce filing.

On Sunday, Aug. 25, the actor, 52, was seen out to dinner with his longtime friend and collaborator Matt Damon, as well as Damon's wife Luciana, at the Los Angeles restaurant Toscana.

Affleck dressed casually, wearing a button-down shirt over a white T-shirt, jeans and sneakers, while Damon, 53, wore a black polo shirt, glasses and dark jeans. Damon's wife Luciana, whom he has been married to since 2005, could be seen wearing a black dress.

Affleck's outing with Damon, whom he has known since they were children growing up in Cambridge, Massachusetts, comes days after Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck in Los Angeles.

Damon recently spoke of the attention Affleck's personal life has received from the public and media over the years during an Aug. 6 appearance on the Radio Times Podcast, while he promoted his new movie with Affleck's brother Casey, The Instigators.

“I've been really lucky in that way … especially when I look at Casey's brother, Ben. I can’t imagine living under that kind of scrutiny," he said during that interview. “And it's been like that for 25 years, and we've had parallel careers in a lot of ways and so I'm fortunate to have been kind of excused from that part of [it]."

“That magazine culture that was so huge you know … 25 years ago kind of ignored me…” Damon recalled. “Like, a guy who's married, it's so boring. What would sell those things were scandal and sex and all that stuff … and as long as you didn't do any of that stuff it wasn't really worth their time to wait to take your picture. So I ended up kind of getting left alone."

Affleck and Damon have collaborated on the big screen more frequently in recent years with movies like 2021's The Last Duel and 2023's Air. In 2022, the pair also co-founded a production company called Artists Equity, through which they are releasing an upcoming sports biopic featuring Lopez titled Unstoppable.

The movie is expected to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September; sources told PEOPLE that while Affleck does not plan to attend the festival's red carpet for its premiere, Lopez and Damon will attend to promote the film.
