Lana Del Rey Confirms She's Single, Says Her Ex Had a 'Little Bubble Ego': 'I Don't Get to Have One Anymore' (original) (raw)
Lana Del Rey is back on the market.
In a cover story interview with Harper's BAZAAR, the "Say Yes to Heaven" singer, 38, opened up about her relationship status while discussing the thrill of her fanbase in Arkansas and how the simplicity of her home has become an "accidental" litmus test for who she's dating.
“We had some fights over this house, a couple people,” Del Rey told the outlet. “They didn’t get it.”
Del Rey said a recent boyfriend "didn't get" her house.

“I feel like even the most chill guy doesn’t really want to chill here,” Del Rey said. “Sadly, part of you knows … that ain’t it. … That one shocked me. I won’t name names and whatever, but that one really shocked me, that person. That was actually the end of a relationship.”
The pop star realized he seemed to want the "idea of her" but not who she actually is.
"That’s a tough nut to swallow,” she said of the realization she had about her ex. “In that person’s case, there was something going on with them, like a little bubble ego. See, I don’t get to have one anymore. It’s been smashed to … what do you call it? Smithereens. I’m sure it’s somewhere in my toe. That’s it. I’d love to grow one."
She continued: "I’m learning how. I’m learning. I know what I want.”

Recently, the "Summertime Sadness" musician ran into a fan who was dressed up as her from the viral photos of her working a shift at Waffle House at a Halloween party in L.A. The fan, makeup artist Sandy Ganzer, shared a selfie on Instagram of her posing side-by-side with the singer-songwriter and fun shots of her costume.
Ganzer posted a carousel of the photos on Instagram, which she revealed in the caption that the Del Rey took herself. The pair smiled and posed next to one another, with Ganzer wearing her spot-on costume complete with the performer’s signature eye liner and a “Lana” Waffle House nametag and the singer styled in a black jacket, cowboy hat and braids.
in July, fan-captured photos and footage of the alternative star went viral of the singer moonlighting as a waitress in an Alabama Waffle House. In the shots, she was seen dressed in uniform with her hair pulled back as she worked behind the counter, served coffee to customers and chatted with fans who stopped in or brought merchandise to sign.

In a September interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the “Video Games” artist explained the story behind the internet-famous photos of her at the Southern diner in Florence, Alabama.
“We were on our third hour, and the servers asked, ‘Do you guys want shirts?’” she told the outlet. “Hell yeah! We were thrilled.”
“This guy, a regular, comes in every day and orders two things, so they were like, ‘Just go get it for him!’ I brought him a Coke. No ice. And an empty cup,” she said, explaining that it was for his chewing tobacco.
