Nicolas Cage claimed he was too drunk when he agreed to marry Erika Koike in his filing for annulment after a whirlwind four-day marriage.

Cage and Koike, a makeup artist, filed for a marriage license on Saturday and received their marriage certificate the same day, court records show. On Wednesday, the 55-year-old actor submitted an application for annulment.

In court documents obtained by The Blast, Cage claims that they were both intoxicated and he “lacked understanding of his actions in marrying [Koike] to the extent that he was incapable of agreeing to the marriage.”

“Prior to obtaining a marriage license and participating in a marriage ceremony, [Cage] and [Koike] were both drinking to the point of intoxication,” Cage’s lawyers state in the document. “As a result of his intoxication, when [Koike] suggested to [Cage] that they should marry, [Cage] reacted on impulse and without the ability to recognize or understand the full impact of his actions.”

Cage also claims that there is grounds for annulment since Koike didn’t “disclose to [Cage] the full nature and extent of her relationship with another person.”

On top of that, the Oscar winner claims that Koike didn’t inform him of her “criminal history,” including “additional active criminal proceedings.” The document doesn’t specify what the alleged criminal history or active proceeding is.

Cage and Koike have kept their relationship private, although they were spotted vacationing together in Puerto Rico in April 2018. They were photographed together again in May of that year while out to dinner in Los Angeles.

Cage has been married three times. He married his first wife, actress Patricia Arquette, in April 1995 and the two later divorced in 2001. In August 2002, he married Lisa Marie Presley but filed for divorce in November of that year. It was finalized in 2004.

The actor’s third wife was Alice Kim. The two married in 2004 and welcomed their son Kal-El in 2005. In June 2016, PEOPLE confirmed the two had separated in January of that year after 12 years of marriage.
