Sarah Paulson Says Girlfriend Holland Taylor Slid Into Her DMs Before They Started Dating (original) (raw)
Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor have Twitter to thank for their romance.
The couple, who have been dating since 2015, had known one another for years before their romance sparked. And according to Paulson, it all went down in the DMs!
During a visit to Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Wednesday, the Glass actress, 44, recalled how she met Taylor.
"It's a long story. We met a very, very long time ago. I was with someone else and she was too," Paulson told Cohen and Billy Eichner, her American Horror Story costar who was also guesting on the Bravo late night talk show.
'We were doing a thing at [actress] Martha Plimpton's house. It was for an organization that she was working with and we were both doing a little PSA for it," Paulson recalled. "We sort of breezed by each other and then started following each other on Twitter… and then…"
That prompted Eichner to ask, "So Holland Taylor slid into your DMs?"
"She actually did!" Paulson said, with a laugh. "It's pretty great.'

So what happened after the DMs? Paulson told Modern Luxury in June that they eventually set up a dinner date. They've been going strong ever since.
"It's the most wonderful, extraordinary thing that could have ever possibly happened in my life," Taylor, 76, said on WNYC's Death, Sex & Money podcast in 2015.
"[Holland was] the most exquisitely beautiful woman I'd ever seen," Paulson told The Sunday Times in June.

And as for the age difference, that doesn't bother Paulson.
"I think a lot of people have a stunted way of looking at older people, it's a way of distancing themselves from something that they think will not happen to them," she told The Times, adding, "I have the good fortune of being with someone who is older and wiser than I am."
"People look at me and Holland and say, 'Mommy issues,' but I parent her as much as she parents me, so that's not it," Paulson added.
She added to _Modern Luxury: "_If anyone wants to spend any time thinking I'm strange for loving the most spectacular person on the planet, then that's their problem."
Glass is now in theaters.
