Time to Party! All About Lea Michele's Rockin' Reception Dress (original) (raw)
After Lea Michele said “I do” in her fairytale Monique Lhuillier ballgown, she decided to switch things up by slipping into something a bit more party-ready for her rocking wedding reception. And she turned to her go-to designer again for her second special look.
“For the dancing dress after the reception, Monique Lhuillier made this amazing dress for me,” Michele tells PEOPLE exclusively. “From her new collection she has this very sexy, black mini dress with long sleeves, and she [made] it special for me, in white.” (And she didn’t just wear it for dancing – she also rocked out to music played by close friend and Glee costar Darren Criss, pictured below.)
The actress loved the V-neck long-sleeve lace number so much that she plans on wearing it well after the wedding celebration is over. “I could definitely see myself putting that dress on from time to time, if I can fit into it after the wedding,” Michele says. “I just love it so much, and I will find an excuse to wear that dress, again and again.”

Michele wed Zandy Reich, the president of AYR clothing company, on Saturday in a romantic and intimate wedding in Northern California and went right to Lhuillier to make her strapless wedding gown with structural sweetheart neckline and corset-style bodice for the ceremony.
“I get chills when I think about Monique, and how much I love her,” Michele said about the designer who she calls the “queen of all queens.”
“Monique is so beautiful, and so talented and she let me try on every single dress,” Michele said. “But the last one I tried on was that one that I saw online and I absolutely loved it. In the entire wedding process, that was one of my most favorite moments, being at that fitting with Brad, and with my mom, and letting my mom see me wearing my wedding dress for the first time was so magical.”
“Once she put it on, we knew. Joyful tears followed,” Lhuillier told PEOPLE about the fitting.

“Working with Lea was an absolute dream,” Lhuillier tells PEOPLE. “I’ve had the pleasure of dressing her through the years, so when she asked me to design her wedding gown I was truly honored. Lea is a fashion girl and knows what works on her. She came with a vision and together we made it a reality.”
