Angelina Jolie, born Angelina Jolie Voight, is an American actress, filmmaker and humanitarian. The daughter of actor Jon Voight, Jolie began her acting career as a young child in the 1982 film Lookin' to Get Out. She then landed a few other minor roles until 1995, when she played the lead in the film Hackers. She won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 1999 film Girl, Interrupted, cementing her as a prominent leading lady in Hollywood. She is also known for her role as Lara Croft in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, her role in Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2005, her performance as the title character in Maleficent in 2014 and her role in the 2008 film Changeling, for which she was nominated for another Academy Award. Jolie is also a humanitarian and philanthropist, most notably serving as a Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Jolie has also attracted a lot of media attention over the years for her high-profile relationships, including her marriage to Billy Bob Thornton from 2000 to 2003 and her marriage to Brad Pitt from 2014 to 2019. She shares six children with Pitt.
