Martha Stewart (née Martha Helen Kostyra) is an American entrepreneur, writer and television host. After finding success as a published author throughout the '90s with books such as Entertaining, Martha Stewart's Quick Cook Menus, Martha Stewart's Christmas and Martha Stewart's Wedding Planner, Stewart launched the women's lifestyle magazine Martha Stewart Living in 1991. Her brand expanded in 1997 to Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and encompassed all of her books, magazines, television shows and retail products. In 2002, Stewart was charged following an insider trading scandal. She was sentenced to five months in prison. Following her release from prison, Stewart hosted two shows for NBC, including her self-titled syndicated daytime program. In 2012, Stewart launched the series Martha Stewart's Cooking School on PBS, which aired until 2017. She has also appeared as a judge on competition cooking shows including Chopped and Bakeaway Camp.
