Salma Hayek is an actress, director, and producer. She started acting in telenovelas and Mexican films before landing her big break in the United States with the 1995 film, Desperado. In 2003, she became the first Mexican woman to receive an Oscar nomination for best actress for her portrayal of Frida Kahlo in the 2002 biopic Frida. She also co-founded the Chime for Change global campaign in 2013 with Beyoncé and fashion house Gucci.
