Every year and every election, political marketing plays a larger part in the national dialogue. Public speaking and meeting organisation abilities are now more crucial to winning elections than ever before. Both of these avenues of speech and more instantaneous types of media remain staples of contemporary political conversation. Candidates for office today have to continuously tweet and go on talk shows, but politicians in John F. Kennedy's day were confined to making television appearances.
Holz-Bacha et al. (2005) and Maarek (2004) agree that (2007), "professionalisation" of political communication is a skill that all politicians should acquire. Some researchers have attempted to use professionalisation standards as a yardstick for evaluating the progressiveness of a country's political discourse (Strömbäck, 2009). The evolution of marketing tactics in general, and modern political marketing in particular, have both arrived to the same conclusion: digital media has become a significant political communication device. Mass media such as television and print journalism did not exist until the 1950s and 1960s, the concept of "mass marketing" emerged and quickly gained traction.

However, the outbreak of the first wave of Covid-19 portends salient issues for public road transport system. Therefore, the study evaluated the effect of Covid-19 on travel behavior and public transportation in the Lagos, Nigeria.
The study was conducted in Lagos, as the city remained the epicenter of the outbreak in Nigeria while 384 respondents were sampled via emails while data gathered were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics.
The multiple regression model revealed that Covid-19 has a significant effect on travel behavior and public transportation in Lagos, Nigeria indicated by R = 0.280; R2 = 0.078; Adjusted R2 = 0.061; F-value = 4.593, p< 0.05. However, only four independent variables namely: increase in transport fare; lack of alternative transport means; inadequate transport means and road traffic congestion were significant while social distancing was insignificant. Furthermore, significant changes during the lockdown when some socio-economic activities were banned included reduced trips, increasing private car use, walking and cycling for short distance trips.
The study concluded that there is a decrease in the number of trips made by commuters and an increasing use of private cars as a result of Covid-19. Finally, Covid-19 has a significant effect on public transportation in Lagos, Nigeria with a concomitant increase in transport fare.

Research paper thumbnail of Relationship Between Law and Morality With A Legal System

Law and morality are two normative systems that control and regulate behaviors in a human communi... more Law and morality are two normative systems that control and regulate behaviors in a human community so as to allow harmonious and effective intersubjectivity between individuals who recognize one another as bearers of rights. Both notions have their common foundation in the concept of individual autonomy and equal respect for everyone. They have a complementary relationship. Law compensates for the functional weaknesses of morality and morality tempers the mechanical implementation of positive law through the notions of solidarity and responsibility. Different legal thinkers have interpreted the relationship between law and morality in different ways. On the one hand, there are those who argue that law and morality are independent – though not unrelated. For this first group, a law cannot be disregarded merely because it is morally indefensible. On the other hand, there are those who maintain that law and morality are interdependent. For this second group, any law that claims to regulate behavioral expectations must be in harmony with moral norms. Approached from this perspective, the law must be enacted in such a way that it secures the welfare of the individual and the good of the community. Thus, the aim of all laws should be both the attainment of the end of the state and the common good of the community, both immediate and ultimate. For Habermas, law and morality deal with the same problem: legitimately ordering interpersonal relationships through justified norms.

However, it is important to note that there still exists voter apathy among the electorates even though communication operators disclosed the shift from the old media (traditional media) to the new media that encompasses the internet and the social media platforms. Despite the electrifying effect of the Nigerian 2015 general elections, it was discovered that less than half of the registered voters, 42.76%, officially voted. Invariably, without voters, or without a sufficient turnout, there can be no true elections that would reflect people’s preferences. Thus, this study assesses the changing nature of voter apathy in the 2015 general elections; a comparison of old and new media in Nigeria.

The study adopted survey method- qualitative and quantitative research design. The sample consisted of 400 respondent using clustering and Proportional sampling technique to administer questionnaires to each of the wards within the study area i.e Ilorin West Local Government of Kwara State. Four research objectives were raised and analyses using statistical methods i.e frequency distribution tables, simple percentages and cumulative frequency.

The results revealed that most Nigerians on the social media platforms only pay lip service and fail to cast their votes at the 2015 general election; as many Nigerians may follow political candidates on social media but might not likely come out to cast their votes for such candidates. The study also confirmed that the electoral commission needs to design new voting process that will allow Nigerians to vote at the comfort of their households. The research work also showed that most eligible electorates perceived voting as waste of time and only register due to the importance of voters’ cards but not interested in voting. Furthermore, the research work also revealed that that Parties’ indoor campaigns, Traditional leaders, religious clergy political sensitization information arouse the interest of eligible Nigerians towards active political participation
Based on these findings, it was recommended that Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Department of State Security, the Nigerian Press Council and Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria (BON) should collaborate to monitor the electioneering campaigns of candidates of various political parties to ensure that they do not engage in hate speeches and sanction media houses that go against the regulations and code of conduct of the Broadcasting and press institution. Furthermore, more political parties should be encouraged by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to have a noticeable presence on the internet and lastly, the electoral body, INEC, politicians, the media and the government should together towards voter mobilization as it is a fundamental antidote for voter apathy.

Even though the result showed that the APC recorded a growth on Twitter, they are significantly lagging behind on the follower count as their aggregate Twitter followers are less than the number of voters that make up a polling unit in Nigeria. The surprising fact here is that APC defeated the PDP in the Nigerian presidential election of 2015 by over 3 million votes, yet is trailing the PDP on Twitter, we then have to ask if Nigerian voters have apathy for Twitter? It is recommended that further studies be carried out to ascertain what motivates political parties in Nigeria to use Twitter if as this research has shown there is no correlation between Twitter use and earned votes.

Research paper thumbnail of Parental Socioeconomic Status as a Predictor of Physical and Mental Health Outcomes in Children - Literature Review

Acta clinica Croatica, 2017

Parental socioeconomic status is a multidimensional concept of special importance for the growth,... more Parental socioeconomic status is a multidimensional concept of special importance for the growth, development, health outcomes and education of children. Its definition generally refers to the amount of parents' income, their employment status and level of education. Hence, lack of economic resources and poverty of parents affect all aspects of the child's life, health outcomes and education, as well as his/her social inclusion. Accordingly, the consequences of a reduced parental socioeconomic status leave long-term effects on their children. Therefore, in order to create interventional programs for children of parents with low income and lower socioeconomic status, as well as with lower level of education, it is important to address the direct aspects of poverty. This review contributes to the evidence indicating that the parental socioeconomic status is highly influential in determining the child's physical and mental health and future outcomes including his/her academ...

Changing demographics in Nigeria, in addition to the breakdown of the family structure and absence of a social security system, present unique challenges to the elderly in Nigeria. This paper analyzes the current policy lacuna and future issues concerning older persons in Nigeria. It posits that the introduction of neoliberal economic policies created a vacuum in policy formulation and execution in which the older persons are not provided for within the social safety nets in the neoliberal state. This exploratory, qualitative study is based on interviews and narratives of interviews with government officials. The findings of the study show that, in the face of rapid demographic change, one of the major challenges facing Nigeria is developing policies and appointing personnel capable of understanding and responding to the current social priorities and complex needs of an increasingly ageing population in the country. Based on the findings, the study provides recommendations that may assist the government to table policies that will promote the well-being of the elderly in Nigeria. A Non- Linear Autoregressive Distributed Lag (NARDL) approach was applied on quarterly data spanning 1999Q1 to 2018Q4. Results showed that oil price increases led to increase in headline, core and food measures of inflation in Nigeria. However, a decline in oil price resulted in a decline in the marginal cost of production and culminated in moderation of domestic inflation. Furthermore, negative oil price shocks led to higher inflation in Nigeria when exchange rate is dropped from the models, indicating that exchange rate absorbed the impact of oil price declines earlier, as lower oil prices culminated in lower external reserve, depreciation of the naira and ultimately higher inflationary pressures. Also, core inflation tends to respond more to oil price increases than food inflation. These results were robust to changes in econometric specifications and sample period. The study recommends that monetary policy actions of the Central Bank of Nigeria should focus on taming core inflation in periods of substantial oil price increases while strengthening its efforts at ensuring domestic sustainability in food production through its agricultural intervention programmes to further minimize the impact of international oil prices on food inflation. Similarly, the fiscal authorities should ensure that the fiscal stance is not excessively procyclical in periods of rising oil prices. Picking electoral violence as a negative component of this political involvement, this research provides a comprehensive analysis as to why young people find themselves enmeshed in violent contestations, especially during election periods. The research goes beyond superficial labels of criticisms tagged on the Nigerian youth by arguing that there is urgent need to understand the structural dynamics which condition violence. Using theoretical constructions by prominent scholars like Douglas North et al. (2014), Huerta (2015) etc., the research provides lucid political economy explanations of youth’s involvement in electoral violence. Again, the research analyses youth’s involvement in electoral violence in Nigeria and concludes by providing key recommendations to the various stakeholders, including political parties, electoral management bodies, CSOs and governments on how to dissuade young people from involving in electoral violence. It is against this background that the research x-rays the relationship between poverty and political violence among youth in the politics of Nigeria. Using the relative deprivation theory, the research discovers that poverty and political violence cannot be separated. This is as a result of the fact that the youth are in a serious condition of poverty which make them to embrace illicit behaviors especially political violence. The research finally suggests that in as much as the politicians would continue to assume politics as a do or die affair, political violence would undoubtedly remain perpetual in Nigeria. To this end, therefore, the rule of law must be strictly observed, to punish the actors and their masters who finance them. Keywords: Electoral Violence, Youth, Political Involvement.

Research paper thumbnail of The Civil Service and the Public Policy Process in Nigeria a Study of Oyo State 2015 2019

The research considered the civil service as the engine room for the administration of human and ... more The research considered the civil service as the engine room for the administration of human and non-human resources of the country, state, or local government in the business of governance. The Nigeria civil service has a history behind it, and it has evolved over the years playing significant roles in the growth of the country’s policy development and administration, particularly since independence. While, the activities of the civil service may have come short in some instances, the structure has also had tremendous accolades at some other times in the implementation of the various government initiatives at different times. Although, the issue of the socio-political menace of corruption is a concept that has hung around the Nigerian civil service like a plaque. A number of the civil service reforms carried out most especially in the early 1970s to early 1980s were predominantly on accountability, efficiency, and productivity of the civil service which could all be traced to the issue of corruption within the civil service structure as at that period. Public policy making and implementation is a very critical area that both government and non-governmental organizations are at divergent opinions in the process of making and implementing such programmes and activities. Public policy itself refers to all authorized means devised by government in order to achieve its stated goals and objectives. This can take the form of rendering social services to the community by a governmental agency or ministerial department. Public policy is thus a mechanism used in translating goals/objectives in to practical actions that can affect positively the lives of the people. We have noticed that in Nigeria, the process of policy formulation and implementation is essentially the work of government and its agencies. Whereas in principles the civil society organizations may have roles to play but in practice they are far away from the domain of policy processes. Secondary method of data collection was employed in this study where relevant literature was reviewed and elite’s theory was adopted as framework of analysis. At the end, the study revealed that in Nigeria, there is a missing-link between the government and the public and also the government and its agencies when it come to policy formulation and implementation and that explain why policies grossly fail in Nigeria. Our conclusion was drawn on the premise that, Nigeria’s problem is not policy formulation but that of accurate implementation. The study therefore, recommends among other things that; there should be a very strong connecting link between the elites who are the policy makers and the mass public. If that is done, it will reduce the tendency of imposed policies from the top. An enabling environment should also be instituted where policy making should be participatory. Public awareness should be created; the civil society groups, professional bodies, organized private sector, and the mass public should be given the opportunity to present their proposals for policy making and implementation there by connecting the nexus between the government and other professional bodies. The research paper has therefore conducted a thorough theoretical review of the management of the Nigerian civil service with the objective of proffering some solutions to the various deficiencies of the system as it is today. Key words: Civil Service, MDGs, Corruption, Indirect Rule, Public Policy.

The research showed that for APC, their growth from 2014 to 2015 was “fairly significant” from 49 followers in 2014 to 244 followers in 2015, while the PDP recorded a “very significant” growth from 5839 in 2014 to 79,516 in 2015.

In some cases, the entire programme was hijacked by buccaneers within the corridors of power. The end result has always been a dismissal performance of such programmes. The major thrust of this paper is to seek to examine the various policies aimed at poverty alleviation, their cause and effects and proffer recommendations that may help to arrest this phenomenon.

Due to various socio-political, economic, and environmental factors, these difficulties are deep and varied. Herdsmen's repeated attacks on farmers and their families have generated a humanitarian crisis, causing many to flee to IDP camps around the state. This large-scale displacement has caused entire communities to abandon their homes and created a variety of pressing issues that strain government response capabilities. The biggest issue is security, since violence threatens displaced people and their former homes. Since the Nigerian government has failed to curb foreign attacks, internally displaced persons (IDPs) must resolve these long-standing conflicts before returning to their villages. Grazing animals on agricultural land are taking away farmers' livelihoods and making relocation harder. The transitory and improvised nature of several IDP settlements shows that current infrastructure cannot meet the basic needs of the displaced. Clean water, hygienic facilities, and adequate food are scarce, making internally displaced people's lives even more difficult. The Nigeria National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) struggle to provide relief due to low resources, bureaucratic incompetence, and logistical issues. The immense size and complexity of Nigeria's socio-cultural environment demand a comprehensive and locally designed plan to address displaced groups' needs. The country's diversity races, languages, and socioeconomic inequality makes it crucial to tailor therapies to the populations they benefit. Permanent residential regions in diverse geopolitical zones are essential to developing long-term solutions beyond momentary alleviation. Given these substantial obstacles, the Nigerian government must emphasise IDPs' well-being and rights without exaggeration. Coordinated security, resource allocation, and inclusive governance mechanisms are needed to help displaced communities rebuild with dignity and resilience. Nigeria must develop a comprehensive and cooperative strategy based on human rights and social justice to overcome its tremendous hurdles in achieving long-term peace, stability, and prosperity for all its citizens.

This study examines how these virtual spaces have influenced youth political engagement, focusing on the role of social media, online forums, and digital activism in shaping political consciousness and participation. It highlights how the virtual community has provided Nigerian youth with an accessible, decentralized space to challenge traditional political structures, voice their concerns, and organize around key issues such as governance, corruption, and social justice. The research also delves into the challenges these communities face, including misinformation, cyber surveillance, and digital exclusion, which threaten to undermine the inclusiveness and effectiveness of online political engagement. Using a combination of qualitative analysis and case studies of prominent youth-led movements, this study provides insight into how the virtual community has become a powerful force in Nigerian politics, influencing elections, policy debates, and civic action. The findings suggest that while virtual engagement offers unprecedented opportunities for youth participation, its impact is shaped by broader socio-political and economic factors that require ongoing critical evaluation. Ultimately, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the intersection between technology, youth, and political participation in Nigeria's evolving democracy.

Rooted in a broader socio-political context, "Èmi Ló Kàn" has been adopted as a campaign slogan by political elites, symbolizing a sense of entitlement to leadership roles based on ethnic, regional, or personal claims. The research critically examines how this form of identity-driven politics undermines democratic principles such as fairness, inclusivity, and meritocracy. Through a historical and contemporary analysis, the study traces the evolution of power-sharing in Nigeria and how "Èmi Ló Kàn" reflects the deeply entrenched culture of political zoning and rotation. It argues that while such claims can promote temporary stability by managing ethnic tensions, they ultimately perpetuate a cycle of mediocrity, inefficiency, and corruption. The study also evaluates the consequences of this entitlement-driven approach to politics on Nigeria’s socio-economic growth, governance, and nation-building efforts. In concluding, the research highlights the need for political reforms that emphasize competence, national unity, and genuine democratic participation to foster sustainable national development.

Several studies have provided different explanations on improving the situation. Despite efforts to improve transportation options, there is still inadequate provision of transport services to accommodate people with physical disability. This study examines the factors that explains travel mode choice among commuters with physical disabilities in Lagos metropolis, Nigeria. The social model of disability theory, rational choice theory, and the behavioral theory guided the study. The study employed a cross-sectional survey design, incorporating both primary and secondary data through mixed quantitative and qualitative research methods. This approach aimed to establish the reliability, acceptability, and credibility of the findings, as well as to provide nuanced explanations for the quantitative results. The study's diverse sample of commuters with disabilities residing in Lagos Metropolis emphasized the importance of considering various age groups when addressing their unique needs and challenges. The findings indicated that accessibility significantly influences the travel mode choices of commuters with disabilities, with the majority relying on cars as their preferred mode of transport, and often as drivers themselves. This dependence on cars, especially among older individuals, raises concerns about future transportation options for those unable to continue driving due to increasing impairments and disabilities. In conclusion, the study recommends several strategies to address these challenges, including the development of educational programs and campaigns to raise awareness about the difficulties faced by commuters with disabilities and promote inclusive transportation. Additionally, training sessions for transportation staff and service providers in disability etiquette and best practices are suggested to enhance accessibility and inclusivity within the transportation sector.

The protest aimed to address the long-standing issue of police brutality perpetrated by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and called for comprehensive police reform. This study explores the impact of the EndSARS protest on the political interests of Nigerian youths. Using a mixed-methods approach, this research investigates the immediate and long-term consequences of the protest on the political engagement and participation of Nigerian youths. It examines the factors that motivated their involvement in the protest, the strategies employed, and the outcomes achieved. Additionally, it explores the subsequent shifts in the political landscape and the level of political interest among the youth population. The findings reveal that the EndSARS protest significantly influenced the political consciousness and mobilization of Nigerian youths. The protest served as a catalyst for awakening their civic engagement and increasing their awareness of social and political issues. Through the utilization of social media platforms, the protest attracted a massive following and garnered international attention, amplifying the voices of the participants. Furthermore, the study uncovers a notable increase in youth participation in political activities following the protest. Many young Nigerians became more politically active, joining political organizations, participating in voter registration drives, and contesting for political positions. This increased interest in politics is indicative of a desire for systemic change and a recognition of the youth's role in shaping the nation's future. However, the study also identifies challenges faced by Nigerian youths in sustaining their political momentum after the protest. These challenges include limited access to resources, lack of political representation, and systemic barriers to their engagement. Despite these obstacles, the EndSARS protest has sparked a renewed sense of political agency among Nigerian youths, driving them to seek greater participation and influence in governance. In conclusion, the EndSARS protest has had a significant impact on the political interests of Nigerian youths. It has revitalized their engagement in politics, prompting increased participation and highlighting their desire for meaningful change. Recognizing the potential of youth activism, policymakers and stakeholders must create platforms and mechanisms that enable sustained youth participation in the political process, ensuring their voices are heard and their interests are represented.

The Family Planning Programme in Kenya has always approached the issue of fertility regulation wi... more The Family Planning Programme in Kenya has always approached the issue of fertility regulation with females as the target group, while ignoring men who are equally involved in the process of reproduction/procreation, and who in many communities are the main decision-makers. In the same tradition, most studies that have been conducted or, the level of awareness and practice of family planning have focused on women, rather than on both gender. As a result, men's knowledge and attitude of family planning is often misunderstood and shrouded in uncertainty (where people act on rumours and wrong perceptions of methods).
This study set out to investigate men's knowledge, attitude and practice of family planning in Lagos state, and how they are influenced by various demographic, socioeconomic and socio-cultural factors namely age, marital status, current family size, education, preferred family size, exposure to mass media, place of residence, religion and type of marital union. The ultimate aim is to generate information that can form the basis of programmes to improve men's awareness, approval and acceptance, and consistent use of family planning methods.
Data for the study was drawn from a carefully sampled field survey and the 2023 Lagos Demographic and Health Survey (the male questionnaire component), which covered 500,575 men, aged 30-54 years. The sample was national in scope, based on the national master plan maintained by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). Analysis was undertaken using three statistical methods namely frequency distribution and percentages, cross-tabulation and Taro Yame method was applied.
Major findings of the study indicated that there is high level of knowledge (awareness) of family planning methods and source and favourable attitude among men in Lagos state, but limited readiness to use both as clients and supportive partners. The most widely known methods were the condom (94.5%), the pill (92.9%), female sterilization (86.3%), and periodic abstinence (84.2%). There was an almost universal approval as 90.8% of the men interviewed approved of family planning.
However, this reported high knowledge and considerably favourable attitude has not been translated into practice. While about 50 percent of the respondents reported current use of "any" method, further analysis of practice of specific modern methods revealed that, a part from the condom (12.4%), less than 10 percent of men were actually practicing any specific method.
Based on the findings, a number of relevant recommendations for policy and areas of further research are suggested. There should be increased use of radio and newspapers as a channel for disseminating family planning information; family planning education should be introduced in primary school education curriculum, possibly in Home science lessons; there should also be deliberate programs to change men's preferred family sizes, which is still high (over four children). Further research should address the gap between high knowledge, positive attitude on one hand, and very low use on the other hand, and between ever-use and current use of specific methods.

The study explore the religious beliefs, cultural practices, and customs surrounding death and the afterlife in these two traditions.
Burial rituals are significant practices in most cultures, as they provide a way for communities to honor their dead and express their grief. In Enugu-Ezike, Igbo people hold a strong belief in the continuity of life after death. They believe that the deceased person's spirit continues to live in the ancestral world and can influence the living. To ensure a smooth transition of the deceased's spirit to the ancestral world, the Igbo perform elaborate funeral ceremonies that involve music, dance, and sacrifices.
On the other hand, Chinese Buddhism also emphasizes the continuity of life after death. The tradition teaches that the deceased person's spirit continues to exist, and its future state depends on karma. To facilitate the deceased's journey to a better rebirth, Chinese Buddhists perform intricate funeral rituals that involve chanting, burning incense, and offering symbolic objects.
The comparative study of these two burial rituals aims to explore the similarities and differences in their religious beliefs, cultural practices, and customs surrounding death and the afterlife. The study's significance lies in its contribution to the growing body of knowledge in comparative religion. The study will provide insights into the intercultural dialogue between different religious traditions, enabling a deeper understanding of the commonalities and differences between these two burial rituals. Additionally, the findings of the study may have implications for the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage and interfaith understanding.
The study disseminated through academic publications, conferences, and seminars, and will be relevant to scholars, students, and practitioners in the fields of anthropology, religious studies, and cultural heritage preservation. Overall, the comparative study of Igbo and Chinese Buddhist burial rituals will enhance our understanding of the diverse ways in which different cultures approach death and the afterlife, and will contribute to intercultural understanding and respect.

The existence of this phenomenon in virtually all aspects of the nation’s socioeconomic life is said to be one reason why poverty level remains high irrespective of her position as the six highest suppliers of oil to the whole wide world, and a possessor of numerous other human and natural resources. A recent attempt by the Federal Government of Nigeria to curb this societal ill led to the establishment of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent Corrupt Practices & Related Offences Commission (ICPC) among others bodies. This research historically explores the immunity and anti-corruption war in Nigeria and specifically zeros itself to review EFCC’s role in this war. The methodology adopted in this research is the narrative-textual case study (NTCS), a research method that sources the required quantitative and qualitative secondary data on the phenomenon of study from secondary sources like the internet, World Wide Web, online databases, e-libraries et cetera. On the strength of the qualitative data sourced, it was discovered that the agency has made some successes but is being hindered by political, administrative and judicial bureaucracy from efficient performance. The research therefore boldly recommends that transparency be enshrined into all aspect Nigerian political and administrative life and extant anti-graft laws be reviewed, harmonized and strengthened to enhance the effectiveness of fight against corruption and breach of corporate governance ethics by those holding political and non-political positions in Nigeria.

Quantitative data collected through questionnaire administration was analyzed using descriptive statistics of frequencies and Taro Yame methods. This focused particularly evidence in the violence that occurred in the country during the Lekki protest/massacre led by youths to demand for protection of their rights. It’s also emphasized at the nature of human right violation in Nigeria and inferred that there were lot of loopholes in the contemporary observance of human right, most especially in the present euphoria of the nascent democracy.

The researcher therefore, recommended that government should have policy of recruiting of members of Nigerian security agencies both locally and internally to make them active and professionally in discharging their duties of maintaining law and order in the society. Government should enlighten and educate young people and adults on the importance of democratic governance and respect for human rights and every hindrance or obstacle to educational, economic and cultural development should be removed. There should be existence for an adequate political will to ensure democratic governance and respect for human right. Also, government leaders should be knowledgeable, sensitive and pro-active to the issue of human right; knowledgeability can relatively guarantee citizen-oriented policy. They should also have respect for human dignity.

Researchers have conducted numerous studies on the potential effects of pandemics on the aviation industry. No single global event has taken center stage since the end of World War II in 1945 more than the novel Coronavirus, also known as Covid-19. It has swept the entire globe, spreading like wildfire. Pneumonia of unknown origin was discovered in Wuhan, China, and was reported to the World Health Organization (W.H.O) Country Office in China on December 31, 2019. As a result, the World Health Organization declared it a global pandemic. The enormous challenge for the health care sector is its ability to handle patients in need of urgent care with limited safety equipment and existing infrastructure.
The study's overarching goal is to assess the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the global aviation industry with a case study of Nigeria. The specific objectives of this work are as follows: to determine the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) in 2020 on the Nigerian aviation industry; to determine the strategies Nigeria airline operators should employ in the aviation industry following the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic; to examine the strategies Nigeria airline operators should employ to manage the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic crisis; and to assess the potential passenger expectations from the NAF.
Python would be used to analyze data collected for the study of the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the global aviation industry in Nigeria. The data was obtained from Federal Airport Authority (FAAN) was analyzed to show how flight arrivals and departures are disrupted as a result of covid-19. In 2019, covid19 arrived in the final months, so the gap between arrival and departure was not as large as in 2018. However, if we look ahead to 2020, there is a significant gap.
There is no doubt that the aviation industry is a vital part of the world's expanding economy. Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) air traffic was used to analyze the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global aviation industry in Nigeria during the initial months of the pandemic outbreak and during times when restrictions were loosened.

For this research, the following recommendations are considered: stakeholders in travel and tourism in Nigeria should meet to discuss post-COVID-19 pandemic strategies as a way forward, the industry should solicit financial support and enable policies for the post-Covid-19 pandemic, the industry should embark on promotional campaigns to encourage their customers to travel as restrictions have been relaxed by the Federal Government of Nigeria, and these reports will help the industry.

The behavior has become widespread due to unfettered access to various brands of bleaching creams. The purpose of this study was to gather data to (a) seek an understanding of the deeper motivations underlying the decision to engage in skin bleaching or skin whitening among female tertiary students and (b) examine the awareness among such students of public policy on skin bleaching creams. The case study qualitative research design was employed to enable skin bleaching cream users to share their motivations and experiences. A purposeful sampling method was used to select 18 participants from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. This study applied the narrative policy framework and rational choice theory to gain an understanding of the experiences of this population. Data were collected using 7 semi-structured open-ended interviews. Analysis of data was done using both manual and software coding to identify themes and patterns. Thematic analysis of the data confirmed prior findings on motivations in that some respondents viewed the behavior as a lifestyle and individual decision. Majority of the respondents expressed vague awareness of the public policies guiding the use of skin bleaching creams. The study findings provide pertinent information to policymakers and the community at large about motivations for using bleaching creams. Ultimately, policy changes or additions may address ease of access to bleaching cream and may reduce the cost of treatment associated with long-term effects of using such cream.

There is a dearth of studies exploring young adults’ drinking in a Chinese and Nigerian context with only a few predominantly qualitative surveys. These do not explore the social meanings attached to drinking practices nor do they shed light on potential gender differences and how these are mediated by popular media. This qualitative study addresses this gap with semi-structured interviews involving 31 undergraduate students. It identifies that media consumption shapes drinking behaviour in ways which are highly patterned and gendered. Participants with high consumption of both Hollywood films and popular American reality television series associate heavy alcohol consumption with high social status, economic independence and gender equality. By contrast, Nollywood (local) films which are intended to act as moral tales and warn of the dangers of drinking appear paradoxically to support participants’ views of alcohol as positive (alleviating anxiety, depression and menstrual discomfort). Nigeria currently has no serious regulation of alcohol on television which is embedded in everyday life. Attempts to develop wider public health campaigns and policies should take this saturated media landscape into account to develop harm reduction strategies which are linked directly to media literacy programmes.

This study employed the descriptive research design and targeted children and adults in Ikoyi- Obalende LCDA in Eti-Osa Local Government Area. For a proper gathering of data, questionnaire designed for the students was used in this study. To ensure proper conduct of the study, five research questions were asked and four hypotheses postulated were tested. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Univariate and bivariate analyses were performed to generate descriptive data. Frequency distribution table and simple percentage were used to analyze the demographic data of the respondents and the research questions. Non-parametric statistics of chi-square was employed to test for relevant hypotheses and the study was at 0.05 level of significance. One hypothesis was accepted and three hypotheses were rejected, and four findings were discussed in relation with the literature reviewed and recommendations were also made. Five recommendations were offered on how government and parents can device means to address children’s deviant acts. It was also recommended that further research should consider embarking on qualitative research to bring out salient features around the topic which quantitative research may not bring forth. In this way, observations from lived experiences for instance will be handy in describing the real situation pertaining to adolescent delinquency. And also, longitudinal study rather than cross sectional study is proposed for future research. This would reveal deeper understanding as delinquency can be analyzed over a longer period of time.

As such, this study set out to examine the extent to which academic staff union of the university (ASUU) strikes influences tertiary educational system in Nigeria. The study adopts the descriptive research design where questionnaires were distributed to 600 students of the four target universities in Rivers and Ekiti state. Student performance, quality of education and permanent solution to education problems were measures of the Nigerian educational system while ASUU strike remains the dimension. Findings from the study reveal that quality of education and student performance is negatively influenced by incessant ASUU strike such that increase in ASUU strike is capable of decreasing student performance in the Nigerian universities. The study thus concludes that incessant strike actions culminate into the erosion of academic quality, robbing off academic time from school administrators and upon resuming from a strike, academic work is bound to the rushed. As such, this study recommends that universities monitoring committee should be formulated whose responsibility will be to liaise with the union on the recent challenges the universities are facing and relate back to the government for quick action. This will further help in reducing the incessant industrial action of ASUU and thus boost the education system in Nigeria.

The scenario informed this study to examine the growth of the sect, the efforts of government in addressing the issues as well as the lesson from the insurgence. The study was primarily descriptive while data were obtained from secondary sources. The study found that the prolonged insurgence was a manifestation of high level of frustration on account of poverty and unemployment while the institutional mechanism adopted in managing the crisis through security approach to peace was defective. The study concludes that the challenges are not insurmountable while it is a reflection of a weak state. The study therefore recommends that the government should adopt a proactive security measures directed at preventing rather than resolving direct violence. In addition, government should adopt peace approach to security and engage in programmes and policies that will judiciously and equitably address poverty and unemployment. Lastly, the southern states should review their agriculture policies to encourage the production of vegetables and crops that could be grown all year round without irrigation as this will be reduce over-dependence on northern sources particularly in periods of crises, disaster or crop failure.

Among them judiciary is very important to ensure citizens’ rights if their rights are infringed either by individual or any department of a State or by the State herself. In a developing country where true democracy is absent, where rule of law is at stake, where political culture is very fragile, there is no doubt, it is judiciary which can provide justice to the affected people, ensure and enforce citizens’ rights (either fundamental or non- fundamental legal rights) whether they are infringed by an individual, a group of individuals, or by State herself. And it is only possible by effective judiciary, not a fragile judiciary. In this research paper whether Bangladesh judiciary is effective one has been examined; for doing this, the different issues of effective judiciary have been scrutinized; whether it could ensure and protect citizen rights, it was studied; the study was focused on the subsequent times of formal separation of Nigeria Judiciary (post scenario of 2007). It is found that the Nigeria Judiciary is not effective one; it is also found that such judiciary could not protect and ensure citizens’ rights properly.
