The descriptive research design was adopted for this study. The multi-stage procedure was used to sample participants 703 of the 15,157 undergraduate students. The two validated instruments used for data collection were: the Life Skills Acquisition Scale (r = 0.76), which measured the education quality of undergraduates students and the Undergraduate Enrolment and Staff Strength Template, to collect secondary data on SSR from the Academic Planning Unit. Four research questions were answered using descriptive statistics and four hypotheses were tested at P < 0.05 level of significance using inferential statistics. Findings revealed that education quality received by undergraduate students of the University of Ibadan was very good with overall average performance of 70. Also, There was no significant difference (P > 0.05; t cal = 1.27 < t crit = 1.96) between male and female undergraduate students in UI as regards the education quality received. In the same vein, there was no significant difference (P > 0.05; t cal = 0.06 < t crit = 1.96) between 300 and 400 levels students in UI as regards the education quality received. Furthermore, findings showed that there was a significant difference (P < 0.05; t cal = |3.66| > t crit = 1.96) between NUC recommended SSR for undergraduate programmes and current SSR in undergraduate programme in UI. The SSR in UI was far lesser than the NUC recommended SSR. (UI = 10.38 and NUC = 21.56,). Finally, the SSR in undergraduate programme in UI had no significant influence (F (1, 14) = 2.24, P > 0.05) on quality education. It was concluded that, students-teacher ratio in University of Ibadan, despite being lower than the NUC benchmark and having a negative relationship with education quality in the institution, was not an explanation for the high education quality in the institution-a situation, which may be peculiar to UI and therefore raising the need for a nationwide study. Therefore, it was recommended that, UI should sustain and consolidate on its current efforts in

Abstract
This study investigated the relationship between personnel welfare factors (work environment, reward system and career progression) and academic staff effectiveness (research, teaching and community service) in the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. The study adopted a survey research design, the population comprised academic staff of all cadres in the thirteen faculties, five institutes and two centres in the University of Ibadan. Cluster sampling technique was used to select eight faculties, three institutes and two centres, out of which 412 lecturers were randomly sampled as subject of the study. The instrument used for data collection was Personnel Welfare Factors and Academic Staff Effectiveness Questionnaire, (PWFASEQ) with 0.86 reliability coefficient. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA as well as regression analysis at 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that academic staff are effective in terms of research, teaching and community service. It further showed that their work environment is conducive at ( = 3.02). Welfare factors (work environment, reward system and career progression) have significant joint influence on academic staff effectiveness, it accounted for approximately 70% of the total variance (Adjusted R2 =0.70) which is significant (F(412)=11.366, P < 0.05,)though work environment made the highest contribution to the prediction of academic staff effectiveness (β=.186, t=3.752, P < 0.05), while reward system has the least contribution (β= -.09, t= -.173, P >0.05), therefore, it is not statistically significant. Thus, the study recommended that the government and universities management should pay increasing attention on, and ensure the welfare of academic staff in terms of funds provision, safe-work environment, career advancement programme among others for enhancing job performance of academic staff especially in terms of publication.

The research design adopted was the descriptive research design of the ex-post facto type. The target population was the entire Junior Faculty (Assistant Lecturers to Lecturer 1 )in the University of Ibadan, which was 723 as at the time of the conducting this research. A sample of 289 was made through simple random sampling which represents 40% of the entire population. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze collected data. The results revealed that Senior Faculty were ready to a great extent in mentoring the Junior Faculty (average weighted mean = 2.8), mentoring
had an impact on Junior Faculty career growth (average weighted mean = 2.5) and research productivity (average weighted mean = 2.7) while hierarchy of authority and administrative workload for Junior and
Senior faculties were indented as barriers militating against effective mentoring. It was also discovered that there was no significant difference between male and female Junior Faculty mentoring experiences. It was recommended that the university management should encourage mentoring of Junior Faculty by the Senior Faculty through reduction of their administrative workloads.

The study adopted descriptive survey with the sample comprising three hundred and ninety (390) Junior Secondary Students III (JS3). This was selected through random sampling technique from thirteen junior secondary schools in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State. Two null hypothesis were formulated and tested at 0.05 alpha to guide the study. A questionnaire titled "Parenting Styles and Students Academic Achievement Questionnaire (PSSAAQ)" was used as instrument for data collected. Data collected were analysed using t-test. The study showed that there was a significant difference between the academic achievement of students from democratic and autocratic parenting homes. Also, a significant difference exists between the level of involvement of parents of male and female students in their education. The paper established the importance of parenting style in the achievement of students. This implies that school alone does not determine student's achievement but a collaborative efforts of home and school. Therefore, the study recommended, among others, that parents should make homes' children-friendly and stop discriminating on sex grounds. The school management was also advised to involve parents and guardians in the academic and moral developments of their wards.
