In Cahoots Vlissingen 1984 (original) (raw)
In Cahoots Vlissingen, De Piek – 12 May 1984
Another one from Phil’s personal cassette archive, which has more gigs from the 1984 European tour than of subsequent tours, which will doubtless please fans of Richard Sinclair’s bass playing (there is very little of his singing, sadly). This was compiled from two different cassettes, and despite this doesn’t contain the entire performance, as evidence by the fades at the beginning and end. Notwithstanding the cassettes showing their age, this is a fine ambient capture of the performance, with a fairly typical setlist for the era. The one unusual feature is Pete Lemer doing something of a stand-up comedian routine, possibly to cover for technical issues being taken care of, which includes him calling Phil the “führer” of the band and pretending that what the audience are witnessing is actually a rehearsal for a proper gig due to taken place some weeks later.
Phil Miller – guitar
Elton Dean – alto sax, saxello
Peter Lemer – keyboards
Richard Sinclair – bass, vocals
Pip Pyle – drums
