Who wants to bake a cake? (original) (raw)

Normally, baking cupcakes doesn't involve supervision, but on Friday, I was being observed (and helped) by two Daleks who wanted to learn a little bit more about some human traditions. Um, Pillsbury, I hope you don't mind this bit of free advertising. Your baked goods are awesome, by the way...

Dalek Thay: "Humans are disgusting!"
Me: "Take a look at yourself there..."
Dalek Skaro II: "This makes a complete breakfast. Flour... eggs... milk... is that not nutrition?"

Dalek Thay: "You will mix! Mix!"
Me: "We're past that point."
Dalek Thay: "Bake! Bake!"

Dalek Skaro II: "What do we do? We must have orders! Do we wait?"
Dalek Thay: "Daleks do not wait! We exterminate! The human will commence cupcake baking! Obey!"

...Anticipation...

Dalek Skaro II: "What is this? Explain!"
Dalek Thay: "Humans call this 'sharing'. 'Sharing is caring.'"

Dalek Thay: "But not today! I have conquered the baking and the cupcakes! All mine! All mine!"
Dalek Skaro II: "Share!"

And so ended my attempt, once again, to bring a little joy to my little Daleks' lives. It failed... again...
