City palace is situated in the heart of the Pink city, slightly northeast ?f the very centre ?f Jaipur. The City Palace was built under the rule of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the year 1699 and continued till 1744. The city palace is divided into two parts- One part Sawai Man Singh museum and other is still the residing palace of the former Maharaja. Some of the attractive things in the City Palace are Udai Pol, Jaleb Chowk, Tripolia Gate and Virendra Pol, or we can consider them as the various entrances to enter into the Palace. The entry from Virendra Pol leads to the Mubarak Mahal. The Palace is designed in a grid style and also has various Mahals and temples in it like: Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Diwan-E-Khas, Govind Temple and many more which one should see while visiting City Palace. The palace shows the regal architecture and rich heritage of Mughals as well as it also shows the interesting view of the Pink city. Beautifully carved, two marble elephants greet at the doorstep of the City Palace, where the ‘Mubarak Mahal’ emerges first or welcome palace which is also known as reception center which was constructed by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II. There is a Clock Tower near Mubarak Mahal. Sileh Khana has a collection of armory and weapons. The next courtyard shows the Diwan- E-Khas is fully built with marble and sandstones. In the western side of it, Pritam Chowk also called Peacock Courtyard is there, which is having four beautifully designed gates. Govind Dev Ji temple is renowned for its structure.

Charges for going in City Palace is Rs. 35.00 for Indians and for foreigners Rs.150.00 inclusive of entry to Jaigarh fort and the timings are from 9:30 am to 4:45 pm.

The nearby Tourist attractions included Hawa Mahal which is the most famous monument in Jaipur. Built by the Poet-King Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799, the Hawa Mahal is centrally located and comprises of many jharokas or windows. A small archaeological museum is yet another attaraction in the palace. Jal Mahal is the Palace which was developed as a pleasure spot. It was used for the royal duck shooting parties. The first four floors of this building are under water, only the top floor remains outside. Government Central Museum was constructed under the supervision of a British Army officer, Lt. Swinton Jacob in the year 1876. It is located in the Ramnivas Gardens and is the oldest museum in Jaipur. The Central Museum not only houses many rarities and beautiful objects but its own building is also a sight to behold. Jantar Mantar is one of Sawai Jai singh`s Five remarkable places. Withstone and marble is used in the construction of this. This represents the high-points of medieval Indian Astronomy. The two Ram Yantras used for gauging altitudes are unique in their isolation Vidhyadhar's Garden. Shankar's Art Gallery which is located on the Hawa Mahal Road. Primitive Arts is located also on Hawa Mahal road, at Tripolia Bazar. Maharaj Moorti Bhandar is located at Chandpole Bazar. Amer Fort and Palace was originally built by Raja Man Singh and developed by Sawai Jai Singh. The major attractions are Sheela Devi Temple, Sheesh Mahal ( Hall of mirrors). Jai Garh Fort is a few kilometres away from the city centre and was built for the defense of the town and has one of the world`s biggest cannons on wheels and a rich collection of arms and weapons. Beyond the hills of Jaigarh, stands the fort of Nahargarh like a watchful sentinel guarding Sawai Jai Singh's beautiful capital. The largest and the most famous amongst these is a garden built by Sawai Jai Singh II for his Sisodia Queen – The Sisodia Rani-ka-Bagh. It consists of tiered multi-level gardens with fountains, watercourses and painted pavilions. The most popular spireless temple of Jaipur dedicated to Lord Krishna. It is located in the central pavilion of the Jai Niwas Garden to the north of Chandra Mahal. We can also see Stan Rose Mazatlan and Jay Shree Chamunda Moorti art which is near to City Palace. Tripolia Bazar and Chandpole bazar are also a famous market in Jaipur.
