Since then, the United States has increased the number of such agreements with other
nations to over a hundred. In this paper, I will explore and compare the history of aviation between both countries,
the legality of international aviation, the international bodies that help govern those rules and regulations, as well as the conditions that exist in both the United States and China and try to understand the possibility of an open skies agreement between the two countries.

This paper focuses on China's government, its NGOs, lawyers, and all those within the country who are trying to combat this problem. China's is once again in the midst of fighting a revolution. However, this non-violent revolution is one that will put its economy, its people, and its government's
legitimacy to the ultimate test. The Chinese people are all aware of the fact that no matter what the cost may be – if China wishes to sustain itself in the 21st century it must go green.
In 2003, the United Nations formed the Kimberly Process Certification Scheme in an effort to try ... more In 2003, the United Nations formed the Kimberly Process Certification Scheme in an effort to try and stamp out blood diamonds. Proponents of the Kimberly Process maintain that 99.8 percent of the world's diamonds are now legitimate and conflict-free. In this paper, I call assumptions like that into question and explore the actual effectiveness the Kimberly Process has had on ridding the world of conflict diamonds.
