New Tree in the Forest @ 05:51 pm
Hey. I will introduce myself as WeepingTree. I am female, homosexual, and live in the U.S. I am a Jewish Buddhist, mixed with a little paganism. In general, I am quite eclectic.
I am a tree of some sort. Possibly a willow, oak, or bamboo tree, but most likely a birch tree. However, there are so many trees, it is hard to know.
My interests include, divination, otherkin, therianthropy, Cher, music, reading, and so on. I love nature, which is a given, and I am interested in animals as well, but to a lesser degree.
I came here to meet like-minded kin, and possibly make a few friends. I have been in the otherkin community now for about three years, but I have not met many plantkin until recently, and only one.
Happy to be here,
-WeepingTree

A quote from the leader of the independent alliance @ 07:11 pm
"As clear as I can tell the Touched(as I have come to call them) are people who have had bits of their souls replaced by or attatched to a spirit of some kind, be it demon, angel, fae or otherwise. As near as I can tell, the Touched are not restricted to biblical spirits and so a Touched person could feasably be from a lost culture or religion.
That said, the spirit often seems to manifest as a sort of alternate personality, or a voice in the back of your head, in many cases both if the individual is not aware of what is inside them. The person usually has abilities, skills or knowledge pertaining to the kind of spirit they share and usually, whether they have any interest in the subject or not they have a knowledge and understanding of the religion or society the spirit stems from. Unfortunatly, this also means that the person usually also feels an alliance or obedience to whatever gods or creatures compel and command their spirit.
This results in the person feeling as though their life is guided by something or "touched"(hence the name) by some other worldly force. Well, congrats! You're not that wrong, or crazy (at least as far as either I or my doctors can tell ^.^. j/k I don't have a doctor, let alone multiple)
That's another thing... how do you know that I'm not crazy, and that you're not crazy.
Well, sadly, you don't. All I can say is that I've met some people in my life who've had similar situations, enough of them to make me think that something is up. I've also noticed more and more people seem to be "waking up" as it were, to what's inside them.
Again, sadly, with that feeling of waking up, comes the feeling.
I think you know the one...
War is coming folks... it's around the corner, drifting on the wind. I don't want to say too much about it here. I'm going to start a whole other thread for that, but yeah... it's there, and I'm not going to pretend it isn't. I think it's something we're all going to have to face sooner or later, and I'm going to have a number of posts on the subject in coming weeks, explaining my own stance and the stance of the group I'm looking to start.
In the mean time, I've started this site as a place where we can meet, exchange information and just generally recieve some peace of mind about the fact that we're not insane."

life has been... "interesting" for a while and i've not been keeping up with my mod-duties ;-)
but i have approved several new folks into the comm and wanted to send out a mea culpa to them for taking so long to do so...
its a slow comm (i've been the poster to most the entries just yet), but frankly i like it that way...
make yourself at home folks...
namaste.

ADMIN: IMPORTANT.. re: pics posted into this Community.. @ 10:25 pm
Current Humor: cranky
I just wanted to let comm-members know that (in case you aren't aware of this) there are some folks who are running scripts that will automatically download all new public pictures that are posted into LiveJournal (i am assuming that the code is just looking for any and all "img" tags in the public posts)...
SO! even though i doubt that there will be much posting here (if at all) of anything that would be too adult-rated and "intimate" (should a stranger see it), only know that folks who have no affiliaton with our community will always see (and have the ability to take and use) any pics you post here...
to lessen the "ick"-factor some, i would suggest that folks just post images in a "friends-only" security setting, even on posts that are going into this comm only and are very mundane and "g-rated"... as long as we are only a few users, this is obviously very feasible that most, if not all the people in the comm will see your pics...
and do keep in mind, that whatever you post as "public" WILL appear on many peoples "lj-images" pages (people are plugging the script onto a page from their homepages, and actually starting up discussions and criticisms of the photographs)... i've even found a forum where they were starting up threads to literally *make fun* of the people in the pics... very childish.
okay, that is all for now, i will be off, have things to post later...

New Green-baby... @ 07:38 pm
Current Humor: cheerful
( couldn't pass him by...Collapse )
i saw the stand of bamboo-babies and saw that they were so inexpensive, and looked so adorable, i just *had* to get one... so me and Aaron looked at all of them, and i asked him which pot he liked best (all the pots were different shapes and colors), and he ended up choosing Bob...
i felt like it was Fate right then and there because *that* was the plant i had fallen in love with when i had first walked up to the stand...
so there he is :-)
the pot to his right (on the left side of the pic) is Yeshua, and hanging from that pot is a small plastic-humanoid named: "super fantastic happy fun guy" ;-)

yes, but in my case, i would argue that it is the *tree* i love, and not any particular "other" ;-)

found a great site (information-wise) but i am pissy over the lay-out ;-)
the colors are bothering me and making me cranky and the table on the far right side is shaped oddly...
oh, but at any rate, it is a very interesting site hahahah:

note to MEMBERS: @ 12:07 am
Current Humor: annoyed
for now, the layout of the comm makes it so that one's entry will sort of scrunch up around and beneath one's user-icon... if you were to look at the main page of the comm: http://plant_otherkin.livejournal.com
the only times this does not happen, is if you were to fill out a current-mood, and *also* a current music....
if you were to leave just one of those out (like say you posted a "mood" but no "music") adding a couple of break-tags, is enough to bring your typing down beneath your icon, and not make it look clumsy...
i am not posting this as a *THOU SHALT*, but i do know that the members of this comm (as of now, at least!) are just as OCD/ANAL-RETENTIVE as the rest of us Qílora ;-)
