Kelambut is an important instrument for the Waena Tribe and plays a vital role in raising awarene... more Kelambut is an important instrument for the Waena Tribe and plays a vital role in raising awareness about climate change mitigation. However, until now there has been no indepth study about Kelambut music. The purpose of this study is to identify the traditional music of Kelambut musically and to know the meaning of Kelambut for the Waena tribe. This research was conducted using qualitative methods. The data source is the music of Kelambut itself; the informants are the chief of the Waena tribe, performers, and local cultural observer. All data collected through participative observation, interviews, records, and FGDs were analyzed using ethnic music theory and structural-functional theory. The results are: (1) Kelambut is a traditional musical instrument made from natural environmental wood in the Sentani area. It resembles a boat and is played by hitting the inside part and functions as a communication tool and musical accompaniment to dance. (2) Besides valuing it as a work of art, to balance life with the environment, the Waena tribe also interprets Kelambut as sacred music which provides protection, as a liaison with their ancestors, as a sign of the appointment of a tribal chief (Ondoafi), and as the cultural identity.

Using it as a shield, they continue to adapt with the rapid development of the world. With tourism coming to Bali, it can be found implicitly and explicitly in the attractions, tourism centers, architecture and other related aspects. Mepantigan is a new developed tourist attraction which enables them to enjoy various activities in an open area and also in a muddy rice field.

This is a qualitative research with the data obtained through observation and deep interview with selected informants such as the creator, the cast of Mepantigan, and tourists that are directly and indirectly involved with the activities. The result is that Mepantigan uses local wisdoms in its activities which are Tri Hita Karana, Tat Twam Asi, and Tri Kaya Parisudha. The participants of Mepantigan have immersed themselves in the values through the activities they are doing.

The idea of presenting authentic local attraction has given local people something to expect from tourism. Thus the idea of community based tourism emerges. This research was conducted at Pinge Village in Tabanan Regency; focusing on the management of the Pinge Village governing body, which consists of the local people themselves. The purpose of this research is to identify and illustrate the role of the governing body for the benefit of the local people. The data collection is done by observation, interview, and literature review. The analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative research. The result is that the governing body is responsible for managing the village's attraction, activities, and facilities, namely trekking, performing arts, farming activities, cooking class, and home stay. These attractions, activities and facilities are either owned personally by the villagers or owned by the village. The aim of the governing body is to make the people and village prosperous.

The vast choices available in Bali make this island a strong magnet for tourists to come. New and creative ideas have been proposed to attract different segments of tourists to come to Bali. Mepantigan is a new attraction available in Bali in the form of games played in the muddy rice field which includes various cultural activities based from the Balinese tradition. The activities are suitable for all ages therefore every member of the family can participate. Regardless of how this activity benefits the locals and participants in various ways, there is a concern whether this is just another form of commodification of Balinese culture tailored for tourism or not, thus this research is conducted to answer that concern. This is a qualitative research based on the platform of sustainable tourism. To obtain data for this research, observation and deep interview are used. The informants for the interview are the operators and also the participants of Mepantigan. This research is still ongoing which later will answer the hypotheses of this research, which are Mepantigan is able to introduce values of the Balinese tradition; it is a sustainable tourism family package, and participants are satisfied of the package.

This research method uses qualitative data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research are that the Plawad Community Health Center has an understanding and concern for protecting and maintaining the surrounding environment, by minimizing and preventing the negative impact of the waste produced, whether by managing medical waste or being an example for people who visit the Plawad Community Health Center by providing domestic trash cans. or also called household waste (non-medical waste), and medical waste, as well as B3 waste. Plawad Community Health Center has not fully implemented environmental accounting, but the Community Health Center has incurred costs incurred from operational activities related to environmental maintenance.

Istilah kendang telah disebut-sebut dalam piagam Jawa Kuno yang berangka tahun 821 dan 850 masehi... more Istilah kendang telah disebut-sebut dalam piagam Jawa Kuno yang berangka tahun 821 dan 850 masehi dengan istilah padahi dan muraba. Dalam Prasasti Bebetin, sebuah prasasti Bali yang berasal dari abad ke-9, kendang disebut dengan istilah papadaha. Berbicara mengenai kendang dalam karawitan Bali, Asnawa dalam master tesisnya mengemukakan ada enam jenis kendang, yaitu kendang mebarung, kendang cedugan, kendang gupekan, kendang krumpungan, kendang nyalah dan kendang angklung. 1 Sedangkan Sukerta juga mengemukakan adanya enam jenis kendang yaitu kendang bedug, kendang cedugan, kendang centungan, kendang gupekan, kendang krumpungan dan kendang penyalah. 2 Namun, berdasarkan penelitian yang penulis lakukan ternyata ditemukan adanya sembilan jenis kendang dalam karawitan Bali. Adapun kesembilan jenis kendang yang dimaksud adalah sebagai di bawah ini, diurut dari ukuran yang terbesar hingga terkecil. 1. Kendang mebarung merupakan jenis kendang dengan ukuran yang terbesar dalam karawitan Bali. Ukuran kendang ini bisa mencapai panjang 185-200cm dengan diameter antara 74-80cm. Kendang mebarung merupakan salah satu instrumen dari barungan Gamelan Angklung (selendro empat nada). Jenis kendang ini hanya dapat ditemukan di satu daerah saja yakni di Kabupaten Jembrana. 2. Kendang tambur merupakan jenis kendang dengan ukuran terbesar kedua. Kendang tambur dapat dijumpai di Kabupaten Karangasem dan dipergunakan untuk dua hal yaitu sebagai pelengkap dalam konteks upacara Dewa Yadnya dan juga untuk mengiringi prajurit kerajaan yang akan berangkat ke medan perang. Kendang tambur ini mempunyai ukuran panjang sekitar 72cm, diameter tebokan besar 54cm dan diameter tebokan kecil 44cm. Cara mempermainkan kendang ini dengan mempergunakan dua buah panggul dengan memukul kedua belah sisinya. 3 3. Kendang bedug atau bebedug adalah salah satu jenis kendang yang mirip bentuk dan cara permainannya dengan kendang tambur, akan tetapi memiliki ukuran yang lebih kecil. Jenis kendang ini merupakan salah satu instrumen dari barungan gamelan Gong Beri. Jenis gamelan ini dipergunakan untuk musik tarian sakral Baris Cina. Perangkat barungan gamelan Gong Beri hanya dapat ditemukan di Desa Renon dan Banjar Semawang, Denpasar Selatan. 4. Kendang cedugan adalah kendang yang dalam teknik permainannya menggunakan panggul. Oleh karena itu, kendang ini juga disebut dengan nama kendang pepanggulan. Kendang pepanggulan ini mempunyai ukuran panjang antara 69-72cm, garis tengah tebokan besar 29-32cm dan garis tengah tebokan kecil 22-26cm. 4 Jenis kendang ini biasanya dipergunakan pada beberapa perangkat gamelan, misalnya Gong Kebyar, Baleganjur, dan Gong Gede. Kendang pepanggulan dimainkan secara berpasangan yang terdiri dari kendang lanang dan wadon. 5. Kendang gupekan merupakan salah satu jenis kendang yang cara memainkannya adalah dengan memukul memakai tangan. Kendang ini digunakan untuk mengiringi gamelan Gong Kebyar. Kendang ini selain dapat disajikan dengan berpasangan dapat juga dimainkan secara mandiri atau kendang tunggal. Aerofood ACS, Denpasar. Design/methodology/approach: This study is a quantitative and qualitative research where its primary data col-lected through interviews, questionnaires, observations, and document studies. This study uses proportional random sampling method with the sample size of 30 respondents. Findings: The main criteria considered in the selection of perishable vendor to meet the needs of production department is quantity accuracy criteria with an average of 4.90 which was in very good intervals. Implications: The last criteria are delivery accuracy, service, quality, and the last is price.

The receptionist will be expected to be friendly, professional and help guests with all sorts of everyday tasks. Therefore, it is needed Communication skills that are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests and employees. Catur paramita or four genuine main characters of a person as an underlying reference of a daily life can be applied by a receptionist since it has the values of friendliness, courtesy, helpfulness, and respectfulness. This study aims at investigating the implementation of catur paramita values by a receptionist. By applying the descriptive qualitative research method, the data, both primary and secondary, were collected through participant observation, interview, and literature study of the catur paramita library. The study found, so far, the implementation of catur paramita values for the hotel front desk receptionist has been effective. The essence of catur paramita is regarded as the local wisdom of a share knowledge and skills including cognitive, affective, and psychomotor with certain values and norms that arise from the result of living-experienced adjustment of Balinese Hindu community. Consequently, it has been able to facilitate the receptionists to obtain the required competencies; firstly, in accordance with their attitude and aptitude in performing the hospitality services, and secondly in accordance with their prospective upselling products for the quality assurance in fulfilling guests' satisfaction.

Purpose: The research is to determine whether the implementation of standard operating procedure ... more Purpose: The research is to determine whether the implementation of standard operating procedure (SOP) can improve the performance of a butler in a hotel located in Jimbaran tourist area, Bali, Indonesia, and find out the efforts that can be applied to improve the performance of the butler employees. Research methods: This research uses descriptive qualitative method using data collection methods such as observation method by directly observing how a hotel butler handles guests. An interview is done to butler employees, head butler and room division manager; and finally using questionnaires given to all butlers. Findings: All butler of the hotel executes the SOP accordingly and correctly and have also worked optimally. A travel guide book with the theme "Surviving Denpasar" issued by the municipal government of Den... more A travel guide book with the theme "Surviving Denpasar" issued by the municipal government of Denpasar, Bali Province, published in 2012 contains a variety of arts and culture in Denpasar City. Some of them are Pengerebongan Festival, Omed-Omedan, and kite festival. These three festivals are an annual event that is visited by many people because of its uniqueness. This travel guide book is quite interesting to do a study because the visuals are displayed using cartoons. In general, the existing travel guide books that are circulating mostly uses photography as a visualization of various attractions of arts and culture. This research uses a qualitative methodology using ethnographic methods. The data are collected from the interviews with one of the designers of the cartoon travel guide book, Kadek Jango Paramartha. The purpose of this study was to acquire a meaning in the cartoon visualization of the Denpasar City travel guide book. The results obtained are the use of cartoon visualization in the travel guide book is a new breakthrough of the Denpasar municipal government in promoting tourism to foreign communities. According to Kadek Jango Paramartha, cartoons can speak on a variety of issues, be they political, social, tourism and so on. In form, cartoon visuals in the tour guide book have multiple meanings namely the meaning of art communication, the meaning of cultural communication and the meaning of religious communication. Multi meanings are seen in cartoon visual signs which are the cultural identities of Denpasar City. The communication applied to cartoons is humorous while still guided by the ethics of the society. Dialectical approach with humorous visualization gives a new nuance in communication. Kadek Jango Paramartha hopes cartoons will become a media for tourism promotion in the future.

Tri Eka Buana Village currently is in the process of becoming a tourism village, where Arak, a local liquor, is the main magnet. The aim of this research is 1) identify other aspects that support the development for the tourism village; 2) to identify the arts and cultures to be a capital that can support the development of the tourism village; 3) the attitude of the artists in the village towards the development of the tourism village.
