Welcome to 
poetryart!
This community is focused on the sharing of artwork created based on, or inspired by a poem or lyric. Poetry created inspired by visual art is also welcome.
As well as sharing your art and poetry, once a month the maintainers will post an entry containing three to five pieces of poetry or lyrics and hold a mini-contest for artists to interpret one of the pieces in a work of visual art. At the end of each month members will vote in a poll for their favorites, and the winners of the contests will be featured in the community hall of fame. There is no blacklist for these contests, however to be eligible to participate in the contest you must post your entry before the month-long round ends. If you are late, please post anyway! You will just not be able to be included in having your art voted on.
RULES:
1. If you are a visual artist who has created art inspired by a poem or lyric, only post your own artwork, and ALWAYS cite the creator of the poem. Same for poets who write for an image that has inspired them. If you are unaware of who created your inspired work, list the author as "anonymous".
2. Flames and trolling are unwelcome and will be dealt with immediately. If you feel you are being harrassed on the community, please contact a maintainer.
3. If your art/poetry has been posted and you wish for it to be removed for any reason, please contact a maintainer and it will be removed immediately. This community is not meant to infringe on copyright laws, only to allow other artists to be inspired by existing creations. All art posted here is required to be properly cited to the original artist.
4. Arguing with members is not part of the maintainers' job on this community. Please respect all decisions made by the maintainers in regards to how the community is run, but if you have a grievance, concern, or suggestion, please do contact us and we will discuss it privately!
5. All types, styles, skill levels, and genres are allowed in this community. However, we do not allow explicit adult material to be posted within the community. Tasteful nudity is allowed.
